Hi there, Im roughly 11 weeks pregnant, not sure, my first scan is not till 2nd Nov, this is my first pregnancy. I woke up yesterday morning and found that I was bleeding not a lot of blood but enough to cover my underwear, my husband rushed me to the hosopital where they gave my a examination, they checked the neck of the womb which was closed and took some bloods and swabs they cannot due a U/S til monday and sent me home, the bleeding the turned to some small brown discharge and now I have some more blood everytime I wipe after the bathroom but they can't admit me until I am bleeding continously, I just wanted to know if anybody has had these types of symptoms and what has been the outcome I am worried sick that it is a miscarrige, read allot of different stories and what has happened to others all help would be grateful, Thanks

Hi Jazz.  Bleeding is very common during pregnancy, and the fact that the blood is now brown suggests that it is old blood, and therefore not a miscarriage.  Have you got any cramping?  My first 2 pg ended in m/c, and the pain was horrendous, so if you haven't got any pain then hopefully everything will be okay.  I know it's easier said than done because you must be worried sick, but try to relax and not stress too much.

Good luck with your ultrasound tomorrow, I really hope it shows a beautiful healthy baby xxx

Thanks for your reply, Ive not had any pain at all, just a bit of a stiff back this morning, the brown blood seems to have stopped just a bit of red when I wipe after the bathroom. Just need to get the scan as soon as possible waiting is driving me out of my mind

I'm not surprised, the waiting's awful.  Everything sounds hopeful because the bleeding's stopped and you've got no pain, so I really hope everything will be fine.  Let me know how you get on tomorrow, I'll have my fingers crossed for you x

Hi honey...

Just wanted to say Dee is right, brown blood is the best blood to have if your going to bleed, try not to worry( i know very very hard, i had a mc in April), its good that there is no pain honey...

I bleed right through my second pregnancy and i have as a result a lively 5 year old sitting in fron of me form that pregnancy

Is is tomorrow they are scanning you? If not a wee exagaration/white lie to make a scan happen never hurt anyone, if anything it will help as it will put your mind at ease...

The wee bleeding your having with wiping could be due to your cervical examination, as when preg your more sensitive and the vessals are more sensitive, so may bleed when touched.....

All the best honey, i will be thinking of you, let us know how you get on xxxxx

hi, been waiting all morning for a scan time but the hospital can't gaurantee me one going out of my mind with worry but talking to the hospital they dont seem bothered, Ive just got to wait for them to call back, my GP just as unhelpful he can't refer me because im not severly bleeding, what a waste of tax payers money dealing with these fools, my husband is suggesting paying for a private scan dont know what to do!

Jazz if it would put ur mind at ease then i wud go for the private scan. the nhs are bad with not getting there arses into gear. That is so horrible that u have to wait until they decide.

I would def go for the private scan just to put ur mind at ease.

xx

Thining of you honey xxxxx

I should of said earlier, phone your hospital and ask to be put through to their early pregnancy unit, they are there to REASSURE women in early pregnany honey!

DO NOT take no far a answer, if they fob you off say your in pain now, i had to do that as my GP said i was ok, and i wasnt.....

Paying private is another option honey, but why should you, you have a right for health care, you pay for it out of taxes....

Have a tantrum its the only way forward in the NHS, us nice people who like to not cause a fuss get no place so honey demand one, love to you and huby xxx

Thanks for everyones help, had a scan and found out i lost the baby at around 7 weeks, now have to have procedure to have it removed, just want to know if anyone else has lost there first and concieved again without any problems, this was my first and we had been trying for 2 years, just heartbreaking and i dont know what i did wrong for this to happen.

Oh Jazz, that is awful news, I'm so sorry.  Please be reassured that you did absolutely nothing wrong, miscarriages are just one of those heartbreaking crappy things in life that 'just happen'.  Most women who have a m/c go on to have a successful subsequent pregnancy (I know that doesn't help how you're feeling now) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

As I said before, my first 2 pg ended in mc, the first at 11 weeks, and second at 5.5 weeks, so I remember very clearly how upsetting they are.  These were followed by 3 pregnancies that resulted in beautiful, healthy babies.  I'm now pg with my fourth baby (although still very worried as only at 9 weeks).  I hope your next pregnancy goes smoothly, sending big hugs your way ((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))))))))))) x
