I have been getting abdominal cramps, backache and cramps at the top of my legs. I have also been feeling sick, I think they are braxton hicks but not sure if I will go into labour soon. Not had a show yet, can anyone help with some advice please? I'm 38 weeks.

 hi michelle, as no one has replied, i think the best thing is to phone your midwife. as this is my first time i cant help you with the symptoms of labour, but your m/w will tell you all you need to know! good luck and keep me posted!!

Hi Steph, thanks for your reply. Was at the clinic today and the midwife said although I am not in labour the baby is in the correct position and that I could go into labour soon. Good luck with your pregnancy.

I am 39 weeks pregnant, and i have been cramping since this morning, the thing is thow that i feel as if i have to go to the bathroom.. # 2! and at that i have gone quite abit.. but the crampy lower tummy pain wont go away am i just poopy.. or is this some type of sign, it is quite uncomfy, and quite often but it does come and go.. also i have had a slight show but my dr. says thats normal.. any advise would be so great.. does contractions make you have to go to the bathroom?? haha or feel like you have to go to the bathroom? im scared i wont no when im in labor! any advise will be great.

I had exactly the same worries and was terrified I'd go into labour on the toilet and wouldn't know what was happening. I can honestly say, you know when it's labour!! I had my lo 7 weeks ago and had a good natural labour, but on the night it started it was definately a different feeling to what I'd been having before.

 hi girls,it's so scary with your first as you don't know what to expect i am on my fourth now so should be ok!!but yes sarah is right you will know as it is much more intense than braxton hicks,they generally say that if you find it hard to talk then it's a contraction (mind you i can always manage to talk unless gagged lol!!)my advice too is don't go in too early when it starts as there is nothing worse than hanging around a hospital,but obviously you dont want to leave it too late either!have a shower and just try to potter about as the more mobile you are the shorter the labour, this time i am having this one at home as i don't want to be stuck in a bed i'll just get the ironing done ! only joking!!lol!

Hi girls im 37 wks and today i threw up some bile bright yellow !! and then started having contractions every 20 minutes they all stopped so im now upset and confused

IM NEW TO THIS FORUM, IM 39 WEEKS PREG AND DUE NEXT WEEK ON THE 12TH JULY, REALLY SCARED, IVE HAD SIMILAR SYMPTOMS RECENTLY TO MOST OF U, BEEN FEELING SICK AND WANT TO VOMIT, ALSO HAVE YELLOW LUMPY THING COMING OUT, BEEN HAVING CONTRACTIONS BUT THEY GO AWAY AFTER A WHILE, IVE READ THAT NIPPLE STIMULATION CAN BRING ON LABOUR (NOT SURE IF ITS TRUE) BUT MASSAGING THE AREA AROUND THE AEROLE WITH THE PALM OF YOUR HAND RELEASES A HORMONE OR SOMETHING AND ALSO MY MIDWIFE SUGGESTED HAVING LONG PASSIONATE LOVE MAKING SHOULD BRING ON LABOUR!! SO GOOD LUCK!!

Hi im 37weeks pregnant and have been admitted into hospital twice 1st they suspected my waters was leaking,2nd time the baby's heart rate kept dipping, for the past few days ive been having strong pains in my privaye parts and seem to be getting worse,this is my second baby and did not experience this with my 1st,Am i in labour?? I really dont no....Help!!

Hi everyone, My name is Debi, and I am currently 32wks pregnant with my 4th baby! Over the past 48hrs I have been experiencing irratic period like pains, that I put down to braxton hicks before - but these are much more intense. They are coming around every twenty minutes and lasting for about a minute at a time. At this moment in time, they have subsided (thank god)...and I have an increased vaginal discharge...ugh...gross isn't it!? lol! ANYWAYS...I have been advised to go upto my maternity hospital, all due to me having a history of having premmies. x

can anyone help im pregnant and due date is tomorrow.my bowels have been clearing well,i have been loosing white discharge (sorry about description not a nice topic) and i also have cramp type pains in my abdomen followed by tightning.could i be in labour?
