Hi Eowyn

Going to see the grandson tomorrow, OH is going to put his differences with my son aside and come with us, I can't face the drive to be honest, I have been crying on and off all day, the house seems so big without her she was such a big part of our lives  a real larger than life personality, we never really appreciated how much we loved her, she was a high maintenance pet, but such a beautiful looking animal. I'm welling up again.

Ella is a super star it would all be much worse without her, she is all thats keeping me sane. She is such a smiler now, nursery keep telling me what a gorgeous child she is to look after, she smiles at all of them and seems to have her own fan club. She starts grinning the minute she gets out of the car.

I'm off to eat chocolate pudding and cream real comfort food.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend, and its not too cold!

Hi

Congrats on the birth of your gandson, Gill, but what upsetting news about your dog . I hope the visit to your son went ok

we've not been up to much, Caelan is a lillte pest shuffling about the floor to get at anything he shouldnt! He's been a bit miserable as he seems to have picked up the flu I had.  the skin on his face gets really dry and sore looking too in this cold weather.....he other day he loked like he had sunburn, bless him!

Is everyone getting organised for xmas? I cant believe how soon it is...i dont feel festive at all! What have people got planned for their wee ones?

Right best go as I've just realsied Dan and I have forgotten to give notice at the registrars for our wedding next year....the deadline was friday - oops! Hope I can get it sorted out!

Hi everyone, I can't sleep...Grrrr! Oh well it gives me a chance to come on here so that's nice. How did the weekend go Gill? What did Ella think of the baby? I love watching Iona with other babies and kids it's so sweet. Mind you she has a tendency to grab hair but it's usually with the intention of pulling the person closer so she can give them a kiss! A very slobbery kiss but I love it. Laura, I've done most of my shopping as I like to do it gradually. I've learnt from the past. When we were first married we left all our shopping to the last week and we ended up spending a fortune as we had to just get the first things we saw for people to get it all done in time. We've learnt that for us it's best to start early and I quite enjoy spreading it out a bit as I love Christmas. I can't wait to celerbrate Ionas first Christmas. We've got her a tiny rocking horse. I actually saw it in a local charity shop a few months ago. It is wooden with a wooly main and has a lovely expression on it's face. The handle was broken but hubby has put a new one on and it looks new. It cost me a fiver but I can tell it will have cost loads new. I'm dead chuffed with it. My mum is buying a little bike from Mother care. It's the one that has a long parent handle and the child is enclosed. As she gets older bit's can be taken off until it becomes a little trike that they peddle themselves. It's really for 10 months but she'll be nearly 9 months at Christmas so will probably manage it then or very soon after then as the age things are often over cautious arn't they. We were going to get it on Mon but the sales lady said she strongly recommended we wait until Wed but not to wait until too long after that as they'd all probably be gone by the end of the week. So if anyone is thinking of getting any sort of push along bikes get to mothercare today or in the next couple of days as they are obviously going to reduce them. Wasn't that nice of her to tell us?! I'd have been so cross if we'd paid full price and then found it had been reduced so soon after!

Well hope you are all tickity boo. Love to you all  from Eowyn and Iona (marmite monster baby!)

Hi Eowyn,

Just looked on mothercare website and sure enough all the ride on toddler trikes are now reduced, thanks for the tip off, we were looking at them for Ella but they seemed a bit expensive for what they are, now they are much more reasonable.

I'm off to mothercare this afternoon!

Visit to grandson was good, Ella seemed a bit put out by him, she was soon grinning like a loon and trying to divert everyones attention away from the boring baby. (and i might add succeeding).

Had a right result yesterday, took Ella for her 2nd lot of photos, I got her a little miss santa dress from ebay, with a little santa hat, its all red and white fur trimmed absolutely gorgeous, the studio were looking for photos for their christmas window display and are using hers because she just looked so adorable, they are going to give me free prints of the ones they use, My ebay bargin dress has saved me even more money!!

I think the photo they are going to use is the one of her in the nude with just the hat on, she is sat facing away from the camera looking over her shoulder, it is the best baby picture i have had taken of her, she looks so gorgeous, I love babies little chubby legs and bums, there is something so sweet about them at this age. I think I am going to turn it into christmas cards, with the caption (how to look good naked).

Gotta go Ella is getting bored, time for lunch I think. I'm starving!!!

Hope everyone is Ok

Hey all

sorry been away so long.

Congratulations and Commiserations (spelt wrong sorry) Gill!

I see everyone is well.

Ciaran is sitting unaided now on the floor - he has a tendancy on occasions to forget where he is and throws himself back so there is a pillow always behind him but he doesnt do it that often. I am sure he is teething, we have no sign of teeth as yet but he is munching on EVERYTHING!! haha.... He was munchingon raw carrot this evening. I have scrapped the jar and tinned foods as a bad idea as he keeps now being sick with any thing in a jar or tin thats in a sauce... mum said I was the same. I am now giving him powered food... like the porridge, I am using Farleys. Tonight was the first night he had it. It was for7month +. He also has no teeth but seemed to reallyenjoy having bits in the food. he does like food. Ciaran is also into everything he cant or isnt meant to be Laura! He loves everything I have and even enjoys (a very small) cup odf tea! He screams at me if i have one and he doesnt have just even a little bit.

Gill - that pic sounds ace... are you using the ones that are advertised in your bounty packs? that you get money off??? I thought of doing personalised xmas cards this year, but If I am honest I am so disorganised with xmas that I will not have time!!! I havent even started xmas shopping, OH wants our tree up on the 1st dec but I havent even got any decs yet!!

anyhoo - im writing this in bed and I think I keep disturbing Ciaran (who still isnt in his own room - waiting for my stepdad to come and fit his blind and curtains! I dont trust myself with a drill) who keeps giving me big sighs!!!

hahaha

Love to all

Hi all

Ella sounds so sweet. I keep meaning to go get Ionas photo done. I didn't use the 1st bounty one as she had a lovely one done at toddlers but I must get one done soon as they give you one free don't they (the bounty one I mean).

Iona loves anything to do with marmite...she loves marmite sandwiches and marmite rice cakes. She doesn't eat much mushy food, I think she like to chew. But I feel I've got a bit lazy and fed up with her eating as she eats so little. We're away this weekend but I think when I get back we need to try and be a bit more structured. I think part of the problem is I don't know how much she should be eating. She really only wants a few spoonfuls (about quater of a small jar) if I'm lucky. Occassionally she'll eat more. She'll eat a slice of marmite on bread no problem though.  She'sa little marmite monster. Need to try and encourage her to eat a wider range of food. Sounds like Ciaran is sitting well. Iona does the same, occassionly she suddenly falls back but she's fairly steady now. She enjoying crawling and if she's on my knee she shouts to be put down!

Hope your all ok. Hugs to you from Eowyn and Iona

Hello all

Ella won't eat marmite, we give it to her occasionally just for the reaction, they do say you either love it or hate it, she pulls fantastic faces sooo funny. Really ought to film it and send it to you've been framed. she looks like she's trying to turn her mouth inside out.

I'm impressed you have all got babies eating lumpy food, ella still only really likes puree's, she will eat a biscuit well smear it all over herself mostly, but she is not keen on anything savory and lumpy, I did get her eating more lumpy food for a few days but now she refuses to eat it,  maybe it was the marmite on toast that has put her off , she's a funny little thing.

I had to laugh when i was in tesco, i spent ages trying to decide which biscuit/rusks to get for her, you know carefully looking at ingrediants when it occured to me that it was the dog who would end up eating them when she thew them on the floor, his favorite is the little elephant biscuits! so thats what she got. lol

anyway...I'm back!!! hope that you are all well! Gill i am sooooo sorry to hear about Poppy, its such a painful time...i still cannot think about Molly without filling up! they do leave such a gap when they go the pain is unbearable but as you said our little darlings do help to ease the pain hugs andkisses to you x x

james tried some lumpy food, ate it and then pewked it all back so im going to try again when we have some teeth....surely they cant be that far away?? he as rosey cheeks most of the time so dont think they are that far away???

Its the school nativity tomorrow.....want to see how my little darlings are doing so going to watch and then on Wednesday i'm getting together with Laura Tees and Caelan on Wednesday...it will be so good to put a face to the name!! She is only around he corner too so it will be nice to meet up!!

We have been to the hospital today...was a bit of a waste of time really as they needed consent to test some blood at oxford/cambridge?? cant remember which?? these bloods were taken months ago so why did they not get consent earlier, and then they sent me to th pharmacy to get some testosterone cream to put on his winky.. i waited 1/2 an hour and was then told that they didnt ave any!! and that i woud have to call back..which is fine but they charge £2 every time to park ya car!!

Hi all,

Just thought i'd pop on and say I havent been having a good time of it recently iam suffering with pnd. I kinda knew it was a given in a way as i was on anti depressants before i got pregnant. But I really thought ah ive beaten it iam ok then bam it hit me. Ahh well I got it on time as i know what to look for. Had hv out with me yesterday i was sooo nervous of her calling i kept thinking are they going to try and take lewis away from me espically how all the councils have been shaken up after the baby p thing. Thankfully none of the pnd is really directed at lewis i store it all up and davy gets it poor him! I just cant nadle lewis's bad days as well as i could although i just put him in his cot and leave him a min or 2 calm myself then go back apparently according to hv thats what your meant to do. I cant sleep which is such a shame as lewis is now sleeping through the night my appetite is down for normal food but could stuff my face with junk. Moods are up and down and i hate going out as i feel like am not there my head swims and i feel like everywhere is coming in on me. So hateful i wewnt to tescos the other night with my mum and i really thought i was going to faint i could hardly walk straight am sure people thought i was drunk or sumit!

Ahh well hope everyone is well

ps lewis has 6 teeth now

hi jenna....

so sorry to hear that you are  suffering x i suffered with pnd when i had DD 15 yrs ago, what you discribe is exacty how i felt..i felt like i was drowning and couldn't get my head above water.....i never saw anybody about it as i was so ashamed at not being able to cope...please do not suffer in silence, no one will think any less of you if you get help.

My turning point  was a weekend away with my mother in law..(now my ex mother in law) i felt like a new person when we got back and realised that the previous 8 months had been a blurr. it was so sad as it was time that i could never get back. i empathise compltely wih you Jenna...but you're doing the right thing getting support. Hopefully Davy hs broad shoulders and can take the grief?

we are always here for you...typing is good therapy, look how far we have all come together?

try an keep smiling hun

Lewis ha 6 teeth thats amazing my little man has none!!

love and a hug to you all x x x
