Hi there, work went ok but so slow - it just dragged.  Amir was poorly yesterday and today and OH had to take the time off as holiday - he has a bad cold bless him and a cough, taking him to doctors tomorrow.

Im just so fed up of this horrible weather it will soon be winter.

Anyway nothing else to report.

Look after yourselves

Hi Mummies!

Olivia has been screaming since 4pm and I was convinced it was the lump at the back of her head nad was ready to go to A&E. OH suggested that I gave LO another shot of calpol and see if it was her teeth. BINGO! It was her teeth! So by 7pm Olivia was a different baby, all playful and smiley. I should have sussed it with the runny poo's but nothing clicked. Now I know for next time!  The ear pulling the last few days were a tell tale sign.

Lou - Poor Amir HUGS! xxxx

Linz - Wow you lost 4 stones!  We would love to have another baby, been thinking of trying at the end of the year or beginning of 09. We must be mad I know but I really miss being pregnant and love being a mum! Olivia has had stuffy nose and had a bit of a cough but I blame it on the randomness (is it a real word???) of the weather recently. Typical british weather!

Morning all,

Hope all the poorly babies are feeling better soon.

Lou- Glad that work went ok, how many days a week are you doing?

Think Shannon must be getting tooth as well, it's not started hurting yet but she's getting all the signs, you can guarantee it'll come through next week whjen we're away!

Linz - think i must have found the 4 stone that you lost! oh kindly told me last night that i look quite fat - thanks for that.  Going back to gym and starting diet when we get back from butlins.

OH is feeling better after the other day, think he can see for himself that she loves him. She smiles more for him then she does me and she's always looking around to see where he is.

Hope the weathers nicer where you are - peeing it down here, it's so depressing. Have a good day.

Torie

Torie- Just remind OH you have just had a baby! Sometimes I cant believe men. They wouldn't go through half the stuff we go through!

Linz I lost all my weight and more straight away too. I was getting pains in my belly but the Dr said its to be expected. Also I was having dizzy spells and I thought maybe I was doing too much but turns out I have vertigo again. Luckily as Im not preg this time I can have meds for it cos otheriwse I wouldnt have been able to drive etc.

I'm going to town in the rain today. Must be mad! But what canytouy do in this country.

Pop on later. Thomas is screaming house down.

Wow Linz, 4 stone is a lot in only a few months, honey! Whilst I am a bit jealous, please look after yourself! I did similarly with Soph and ended up having a black out whilst out for a walk and knocked myself unconscious- all because I barely ate. I am still having ongoing tests to determine what it is, but I am being very careful this time round. Mind you, I wouldn't say no to a bit of lipo...need the money first! I am just trying to walk it all off this time.

Laura- hope Thomas is ok!

Started Lucy with baby rice yesterday (officially 17 weeks) and again today and she slurped a bit both times- have got my steamer out to do some pear and sweet potato for the freezer this avo and will attempt to add it over the next few days. I seem to have forgotten how to wean in only a couple of years! I had hoped to wait til back from inlaws in Ireland next week, but she is just playing with her bottle a lot and so I decided it was time. How is everyone else doing with weaning?

Hope you are all ok...

Well Olivia is a different baby today, she's back to her normal self thank goodness! OH was busy playing with her on the couch and all you heard was a rumble of poo come from her bottom. Lovely! Doc gave me some Capasal shampoo for her cradle cap - boy that stuff can put hairs on you chest! It smells like tar!

Torie - Men dont know the meaning of subtley!

Im trying baby rice on Olivia so she gets used to it day by day but all she's doing is pulling faces at me and blowing bubbles as Im spooning it in! Lol

Have a nice weekend if you can with all the rain.

Hi Karen- glad to hear Olivia is better- they all have their up and down days and it can totally affect your mood and day, eh? I remember Soph was the same for the first week with baby rice, looking at me like I was a crazy woman to expect her to eat this muck!! Lucy is ever so slightly more interested but it is still very slow and it is true that you end up with more on you after she sneezes or generally spits! Can you let me know if your cradle cap 'tar' works? Lucy has it but I have just been oiling it and it seems to slowly be crusting off....yum.

Had a photographer at toddler group today and got some proofs of my 2 girls- Soph standing just behind Lucy and both kind of grinning- Lucy's double/treble chin is totally magnified! Very cute so will prob order some for Christmas presents.

Rubbish weather here, both girls asleep and sucking their thumbs and I have just enjoyed a HOT cup of tea..............mmmmmmm and a homemade cho chip cookie a la Nigella...bang goes the weight loss today.

Have a great weekend, ladies!

Claire- yeah Capasal def works on her cradle cap buts very whiffy! It cleared it up after I used for the first time last time. it does look a bit crusty today but not as much as it usually is though.  I was using Olivie oil since she was 7 weeks old. I tried all sorts but nothing kept it away. Fingers crossed this is going to work.

Photo layout sounds so cute. I was thinking of getting some baby pics done but she isnt inmpressed when we stick a camera in front of her face even if you're jumping around like a fool to try and make her smile. Nothing works! Such hard work!

Ha ha when I first gave her the baby rice Olivia also gave me the look to say 'are you for real Mummy?! Give me your boob!' kinda look. All I could do was laugh at her which then made her laughs.  Ahh babies!

Claire Thomas was fine thx. Just ready for his bottle a little earlier than normal. Pics for xmas sounds like a lovely idea. Also wish I could have a day off my diet. Choc chip cookie would be lovely right now!

Been into town in the rain. Its just horrible out there. Washing piling up in the house, I have even had the heating on this week. Going to milton keynes shopping tomorrow as thats all indoors and I want to get a pressie for my friends baby whose christening we are going to on sunday.

Karen glad Olivias back to her normal self.

Cant wait to start weaning Thomas sounds like you are having fun. I'm going to get a high chair this weekend too so Im all ready. Thomas holds his head quite well now so hopefully by the time he's ready to use it he will have brill head control.

Right off now. Take care everyone.

Hi,

Linz, Olivers tooth has popped out and it cleary visable but it's only small. The one on the other side is coming through now. This might sound silly but they come up and go back down sometimes.

Oliver been alot better this last couple of days. He's doing well in his own room. I'm still doing the dream feed but he's still waking up between 2-3am for a feed. I asked HV about weaning him today. She said as he isn't that interested in his milk, she thinks if I start weaning him he may like solids more and go off his milk completely. Thus, not getting the nutrients he needs. So she said to wait til he is 5months. We'll just be back from Benidorm then. What does everyone else think about what she said? Been a first time Mum I'm a bit gullible!

Torie, my OH says he doesn't want me to lose my weight as this way no one else will want me! Cheeky arse. Wish I could loose weight like you have Linz! I put 4stone on with Oliver and am still 1.5stone heavier. After Benidorm I am on a strict diet for the wedding.

Anyways, OH will be home soon so will go put the tea on.

Have a good weekend ladies and babies!

Katie xoxo

hi girls!

katie- rhys tooth cms 2 b more noticeable sme days than others 2! with regards 2 the weaning rhys was the same wakening in the night n was off his foods,i tried giving him water instd of milk n even just changed his bum but he cmd 2b wanting more than just milk n was knawing on his hands n arms lds-proper biting on them! i was woz 2 he w;d go off milk more but he doesnt cm 2 he takes 70z at 7am feed then rest of feeds he takes abt 4-5oz but thats fine coz he proper loves his food,i thought he wld only take few spoonfulls 1st time but he took full portion of baby rice n know hes enjoying it coz hes smiling n happy n like a new baby afterwrds rly settled n happy!

that was 2wks ago i started weaning hes now on a lunch, pudding ie banana n a dinner n loving the lot-funny coz hes still quite small only 14lb-heavy enuf tho,my backs killing!

went shopping yest n got a cracking LBD 4 my night out at end of mth-celebrate having rhys n my 2friends have just graduated, cost 75pnd which i cant rly justify now rhys is here n im on smp but kp making excuses 2 make me feel better like that its versatile n ill have it 4ever,mmmmm.........!

nehow away 2 watch BB final, have gd long wkend!

oh n thanx girls 4 advice n clare rly do think it maybe is dwn 2 what i eat,i do eat just maybe the wrong things ie cupa soups which just basic water! ill try eat more its just finding a min!

Katie- don't know what to say about HV comments- she could be right AND wrong! Maybe he will just be the type of baby who isn't really into milk and drops it like my sister's first 2 did at a fairly early age. She does have a point but it is up to you, honey, although baby rice is made up with some of the milk he isn't drinking and if you stick with the rice but just add fruit and veg eventually then I don't see the harm??! I have started with Lucy purely because she was becoming less fussed about her milk too- after a whole nights sleep you would think she would guzzle the brekkie bottle, but she drinks half of it very lazily and then just pushes it round her mouth and grins and gurgles at me! I think she may need a solid brekkie top up soon and then be more forceful with her to encourage the bottles during the day. She roughly has 900-1000mls a day, which is what is recommended, but do you know how much Oliver takes in a day?

Claire x

Show/hide user stats
Claire, Oliver will have about 700mls a day. 750 on a good day. He really won't have much at all! x
Show/hide user stats
Katie- I am sure I have been told that they must have at least 500-600 mls a day (about a pint) and I have emailed the Cow & Gate website to check that. You could maybe ask them for some more advice- I think everyone will tell you differently, but it certainly is true that milk is their main source up to a year. Only you will really know what the wee man needs!! I just felt cruel not giving Lucy something more, but she does have at least 800mls milk a day- not that much more than Oliver though....it's your call, honey. xx

hi girls, just a quick post 2 say my HV told me te min they must have is 20oz a day, whats that in mls?!

what does oliver weigh katie? as long as u feel hes healthy n not dehydrated thts what matters most, rhys is only 14lb 2oz n hes 18wks n only takes abt 40z a feed but i add it 2 all his food so hes getting extra oz! hope that helps!

have gd long wkend, pop on 2moz lv xx
