Just popped on to say hello. I am crap at getting on here these days.
All is well. Jack is walking round the funiture, saying Ta, Dad, Cat, Car, Gone etc...never Mum unless he is crying!!!! But he is doing good. He has taken a couple of steps on his own but i think it will be a while before he is actually walking.
I am still Breastfeeding but down to 3-4 short feeds a day. Main reason is he just wont eat! He likes to hold food and nibble it but then spits it out and he hates being spoon fed. However he is also about 22Lb and 40 weeks, so he certainly doensn't seem to be suffering.
I havent read the posts but glanced at the Chicken Pox one. I swear buy Bicarb of soda in the bath before the lacto calomine goes on...it soothes the itching and cools the skin.
Right off to catch up on other threads. I hope your all ok.
chelsey was born on 24th jan weighing 6lb 8.5oz she now weighs 16lb 14oz even tho she doesnt stop eating lol, she is walking along the furniture and with her walker she thinks its great hv said she'll probably be walking on her own within the month cant wait!
Theo started practising to walk solo about two weeks ago and is doing quite well athough def not properly walking yet max hecan do is 8-10 steps which i am impresed with. he has also been quite il with cols and he wasnt well wit it at all- couldnt sleep then his eyes got all gluey with sleep so bought some eye drops for it.
I am not working anymore- i just couldnt do full time anymore and the travel. however its really hard finding a part time job in my area!! Frustrationg!
Well i wanted some advise on feeding- at the mo theo is mainly being fed by me but can see he much prefers to self feed i.e he loves toast, apples, orranges, that kind of thing..so just wanted some ideas for breakfast , lunch, dinner etc. I have given him beg as well like baby sweetcorn, carots, brocolli, culi etc but need some meal ideas. I did give him fish fingers, oven chips and peas and baby sweetcorn the other day whcih he ate- but cant give this to im everyday so any ideas would be fab!!
Glad Jack, Theo & Chelsey are doing well!! Lucys pretty much the same asu guys - cruising, takes afew steps & falls on her bum(which she finds fun so isnt that bothered about walking to far!!lol) eats pretty much everything & says ta, nan, mum, dad, car, bob (her step brother)although dont think its meant at him!!
Had a crappy time just lately as she's allergic to egg which i had to find out the hard way although she can eat pasta & it doesnt affect her but everything else does - she was so bad when we first discovered it - iv never been so scared in all my life - it was horrible. had an incident yesterday as she had a nail size worth of meringue & blew up like a balloon & come out all red, itchy & blotchy! so im crapping myself about that now! what a pain as its gone be a case or trial & era where different egg based products are concerned!! Have any other little ones had an allergies so far??
HI Bex- ha ha Theo says Bob and we were wondering where he picked it up from? Lol He tries to copy my words which is soo cute .he also likes to growl (lol) was ait woried but was reassured its him finding his voice and clearing his throat!?
Oh bless Lucy well lucky you were around and knew what do do - i woundt!!I know allergies are really scary esp when they react like that- ust make her carer is well aware. Theo hasn got any allergies but intoerance to milk which i find quite hard finding suitable things to eat. I have a freid who has allergy and has to be careful with cokies, biscuits, cakes etc but oreos are fine!
Nice to have some posts to read again, good to see babies are progressing well.
Bex my nephew is allergic to egg too, he breaks out in hive like rash if any where near, however he is not as bad as when he was a baby(now 6), he can eat stuff with egg in now has to wash hands and face straight away, cant have egg on own though. His mum and dad where same as you sound at first but quickly adapted, she found lots of egg free recipes etc, it was a mare if he went to party or anything coz she had to send him a packed lunch but he was great about it and accepted he couldn't just eat anything, very grown up really.
Tilly is standing up at furniture and moving slowly, she only 9 months so don't imagine she be off just yet. She says baba and mama mainly, I do try to get her to say dada but as there is one around I suppose isn't something she hears a lot, am sure she will say it eventually. She is very funny and loves singing songs, she is trying hard to copy the actions. She can nearly "wind the bobbin up" and is very pleased at her self, she joins in all the clapping at the right times. Best is she whispers baba continuously as if she is singing the words.
Eva sorry to hear about your job, I hope you find something soon part time. I can't imagine how you managed it full time for the time you did it considering the line of work you did.
Re feeding I'm just trying to get Tilly to eat lumpier and lumpier food. She has jars too, but as much as can I give her what Louis has and mash it. She eats toast and bits of finger food, not big on it though doesn't seem to like the texture of solid food, however she only has 2 peggies so must be a pain to chew it with her gums. She isn't big on fruit, likes apple best, will have bite of banana then whizzes it. Veg she has in meals but she won't have as finger food.
Well am off to lakes with friends tomorrow until Sunday and mum is coming here to look after tilly, can't wait. I will miss her of course but a weekend of being able to get up when i want and not worry about drinking too much. One of the things I miss most about not having a partner is having someone to share the care sometimes, I know we all have them 24/7 and do the majority, but I don't have any time off at all. I don't mean it in a feel sorry for me way, it was my choice and she wouldn't be my tilly if it were different. Gosh do I sound selfish now. I need to win the lottery and get a nanny LOL
Your weekend sounds lovely- i havent been away from Theo yet only cos i know my oh sleeps so deeply i wouldnt have a good night out/away thinking about theo crying all night! In fact i havent been out for the night once since Theo born- mainly cos i dont feel up to . Im either too tired or feel crap! My mum is great with when she comes down . I dont feel like the care is shared at times with my oh working late and not geting up in the night theo as much as i do ( or not all all!) and i would LOVE for him to get up for once to do theos morning feed ! But its less hassle doing it myself. Butis stressful now i feelbad complaing! You doing great and Tilly is lucky to have you , your mum and Louis! I do wish my mum lived nearer!
Well job search is shitty i have turned down a few offers as none are willing to negotiate flexible working or even a 4 day week ( and these are suposedly baby freindly companies!) So not sure what my plans are..ust got to convince someone to do a ob share or let me at least drop and pick Theo up from nursery! My friend is having the same problem- her employer wont accomodate her working hours around nursery. Its hard at the mo no wonder there are so stay at home mums dont blame them!!
Think Theos back teeth must be comng through ( is this normal at this age??) as he keeps putting his fingers in mouth, biting right at the back . last night was mad as he kept screaming in sleep was bizzare- nothing helped but he was asleep/awake so odd. hate seeing him in pain.
I really admire you, it is hard work with a partner so id hate to think wot it wud be like without 1 here, i supose we take for granted what we have really.
Well william took his 1st steps yesterday i was so giddy. My lil boy who started school in sept has just started to read words i was so proud of him bless.
I had some bad news yesterday, my auntie died (wel she was my great auntie) she was 94 and had suffered for a lot of years so i supose its a blessing in disguise really bless her.
Rebecca how fab 2 massive milestones reached by your babies, I am giddy for you hun. Sorry to hear of your loss, it still hurts when we know its a good thing.
Eva hope I didn't put you on a downer, I understand what you're saying bout sharing care but you do fab at it. Bet you'd still get up even if OH did coz if you like me it not that you don't think noone else could do it, it just you need to make sure it done right. I had great weekend, still text mum non stop over Tilly bet I drove her mad. I missed her terrible it was lovely having to just think of self, but I craved seeing her and squeezing her and smelling her.
I've had lovely day today, its my birthday and have been spoilt by all my friends and family and have a lovely warm feeling in me from all their love.
Am feeling all giddy as have just put my tree and decs up, for the first time I've got a fake tree due to the Tilster, but am very pleased with it. Got a pre lit from Asda for £25 and its pretty top really.
Have any of you got yours up yet and if so how have the babas been. I can't wait for Tillys face in the morning, however I am dreading the constant removing her from it LOL.
It doesn't seem 2 mins from last Christmas and here we are about to celebrate their first one, I am so excited and I am a real Christmas person to begin with so I am getting pretty wired.
Very exciting- we also have to buy a fake one i will miss my little tree in a pot and the smell but better for baby lol! Your tree sounds nice we had a look in asda but they were £45! Which i think is a lot for a tree!
I cant believ how fast it has come either we are a bit behind in terms of decrations etc!

just watched that shannon matthhews thing on panoramma. want to go and give that woman a slap makes you sick that people see having kid after kid as a money macheine, but social services equallyas bad they had lots of reports of neglect ust like Baby P. I think i have totally lost my faith in God.
