Im the same Claire, it all gose so quickly. But it is better when they actually start doing things!

Jessica is back to normal....and had had a serious hair cut! So fed up of all the tears and tantrums when I try and brush it in the mornings. Will get some photos on facebook when I can she looks so cute.

Owen is a law unto himself. Since going in his cot things are a litlle more settled especially now I'm making sure he has a big sleep at some point in the day. I think the early evening crying was down to over tiredness. We are on the infacol and I suppose he's wind seems better. He brings up a couple of really big burps and yes they are orangy!! But he seem a bit more sicky now so I'm going to see how it goes.

We are seeing longer nights from him. He did 7.30 - 4.45am (between feeds that is) so we did 8.30pm feed last night thinnking we would get him to 6am but not on your life we got 4.52am thins morning. Didn't think he would go back to sleep but he drifted off and I have to wake him at 7.30 so i could get Jessica to nursery. We have a baby sitter on Saturday night so will have to engineer a 7pm feed then he will go through and she wont have to feed him.

Will be an interesting weekend I have my sister and kids sleeping here (it my Mums 60th) so Jessica will have to give up her room...I've started working on her already!!! Like most 2 yr olds she can be quite possesive!

Gem - Freya sounds very clever! I dont think I'm playing with Owen enough!!!  He is doing quite alot with his hands on his play chair but I need to get him on the floor with his gym and on his tummy more often. I admire your offer for Christmas...I did the same thing when Jessica was little and it's great cause theres is always a pair of arms on offer and plenty of people to do the washing up!

We are out for lunch at my other sister's which is a few mins walk away and then I have the whoile of OH's family for tea (figured no one eats much Christmas night and at least I will have done my bit for a few years!). Looking forward to it now but not done much shopping as with a house full this weekend I would have anywhere to store it all and I dont want to risk Jessica finding any of it!!

Dawn - Well done Dylan is doing great at night, you'll soon get there!

Feeding time...mine actually! Take care...Px

Bad, bad day...

Big shop at Asda... pain in the neck... people seem to push their trolleys straight at us when Dylan's in the special car seat ones... you'd think they'd be more alert with babies and all... also the nice trolleys are ALWAYS right at the back of the trolley house thingie and I had to move about twenty just to get to one!!!!!!!  Grrrrrrr!!!!  Don't people realise it's difficult with a little one??

When we got home I realised Dylan had wet through his trousers and on to me where I was hugging him to stop screaming because of the teething pain!!!  Change of clothes and good wash and then, because I haven't got enough gaviscon at the moment, he sicked all over both of us.  Enter lunchtime bath... so far still in same sleepsuit but we'll see...

So I've been weed on and sicked on and today Dylan had great fun in the bath kicking his legs (usually a lot more placid) therefore mummy all wet too

It was good that he was happy in the bath though, could have gone either way.

Gem, Freya is so clever!!  Dylan hasn't been in his play nest or gym thing for a while now because he's been so grouchy or sleepy... I'm sure it is teething... I looked in his mouth today while he was screaming and I could see some pokey out bits at the bottom!  Cool   He's doing quite well with what we call his "gumbly"  We call food numblies, dummy dumbly and therefore the dummy for gums seemed to fit being called dumbly for some reason   Not sure where we got all that from... The only thing is he can'thold it in place himself so we have to hold it for him, which means he doesn't get it for long.  YOu put them in the fridge too and I'm sure he loves the cold.

Our cat seems to have been having fun in the gym though which means I also have to hover it every time Dylan goes in it or he ends up covered in white fluff!!

Not sure if I already mentioned this but we put the trree up on Sunday... Dylan loves it   I feel so christmassy...

Dylan's good night seems to have been a one off... he's 9pm then about 4am now... sometimes wakes at about 3am but I try to put him off so he's in a routine and it works ok... means I'm not getting much sleep though with cuddles and dummies etc.  He's still on 8oz at every feed and sometimes 7 feeds in 4 hours!!  AND the hungrier baby stuff... don't know what he uses all that energy on though...

Gem, when do you think you'll stop breastfeeding?  I think you've done so well... will you carry on when Freya's on solids?

Not sure about putting Dylan in his own room... still thinking after Christmas and I can see the pros but I can also see the cons... a bit like stopping breast feeding... difficult to know what to do for the best.

Petra - do you put owen in his bed for his daytime sleep or does he sleep in a chair?  Dylan's always just stayed downstairs in the day but I think that's because of his initial mix up between night and day and us being terrified that it'll happen again!!

HOpe you're all doing ok... speak soon x

Hi all,

Much less stresful day today, car started and everything!  I even got to ride my horse this morning while a friend had Freya with her little boy for an hour and tomorow I'll look after her little one so she can ride. Been to baby massage this afternoon and Freya really enjoyed it, last week she was seriously grompy as she just wanted top feed but smiled and giggled her way through this session.  At the end of the session most of us were breastfeeding before we left and a bt engineer came in to fix something, I've never seen a man look so scared of a bunch of breastfeeding women, it was so funny, he left at speed looking very firmly at the floor, lol,!

Thanks, Claire, I got very excited!  People keep telling me I should really make the most of this 'stationary baby' time cos it will just get more chaotic as she gets older!  Freya really likes it under her playgym, although not too happy on her tummy, she'll hold her head and shoulders up for a minute or so then start yelling to be turned over.  She's been enjoying practicing  trying to roll today, she gets quite vigorous but can only get so far onto her left side then her arm gets in the way, she doesn't do it at all to the right for some reason.  I think it will be a while before she'd successful though!

It's good these babies are all sleeping longer at night now, we're gradually bringing bedtime forward but the problem is if it's too early my oh will never see her as some nights he gets in quite late.  Last night she did 9-3 then 3-30 - 7 which was quite nice.  I'm hoping once bedtime comes forward to about 7.30 another feed at 10.30 will see her through most of the night, we'll see!   I bet we just get into a routine then she'll start teething or something and the whole thing will be out the window.

Petra, sound like another busy weekend for your household, have fun for your mum's 60th.  At least lots of people mean more people to hold the baby.

Dawn, I'm so with you on the trolley thing, there are only about three of those trolleys and yes, they are always at the back, it drives me mad too.  And it's hard to see where you're going cos of the car seat and everyone gets in the bloody way!  I had a kid almost run in to the front of me today cos he wasn't looking, I'd stopped, and his mum had the nerve to glare at me.  I felt like telling her to educate her child to look where he's going!

I'll probably keep breastfeeding till she starts solids then try and wean her onto a bottle or cup as I'll be going back to work part time when she's 7 months old, I might keep doinf the morning and evening feeds till she's a year though, I don'y really know, we'll just see what happens.  The problem is she hasn't had a bottle for a few weeks now and the firend I left her with tried to give her some expressed milk in a bottle while I was gone but she wasn't having any of it, she cried till I came back and she could have boob.  I think I may have a problem with the bottle thing now which will mean leaving her is going to be a bit tricky.

hope all are well

Hi Ladies

Right - Gem you are so fab to be breast feeding and seem to be doing so well. I always thought that had I been successful I would draw the line at teeth!! Friends of mine have had some awful trouble weaning. Bet it was nice to have some time away on your horse. I wish I had some thing like that to myself. Must start running, I know it makes me fell so much better.

The trolley thing....right there with you. Went to tesco this morning thinking of using one of those trollies for the car seat for the first time and there was one standing at the back soaking wet!!!! In the pooring rain, had to drop Nanny and children off the door and go find a parking space 1/2 a mile away!! We stayed until the rain stopped.

Owen is in his own room and to be honest since then he and I have slept slot better, he is a big boy and he has room to spread out in his cot. I do try and put him to sleep in his room for his daytime sleeps but with so much going right now on his sleeps are a bit ad-hoc during the day. I cant seem to pin him down to a routine! I need to bring his bedtime feed forward too. Need to get it to 6.30 or 7 to try and work in with Jessica. If I do that I'll try and 'dream feed' him at 10.30-11pm and see how far he gets. We are on 8pm feed and bed then he goes to 4.30 or 5. I worry that he wont be tired enough to go back to sleep though! They both slept in till 7.30am this morning. I was up showered dressed and made-up before they even raised their heads it was lovely.

Yes a crazy weekend, then I have to crack on with the Christmas shopping next week. I also have to make our family christmas card.

Dawn - it is strange how you develope a new language for things when the kids come along. Jessica used to say Beer for butterfly and right now she sayes Mistmas Tree and Mistmas Song so we have started saying it too. She, is of course the Tinker and Owen has been named the monkey. OH has just called to ask 'whats the score is on the tinkometre' and 'has there been much 'monkey' business'? My reply is always 'Off the Scale on both counts!!'.

Well have my MIL washing up! Yeah! So must go and show my face.

Hi,

Petra, I hadn't thought about teeth!  I did get told if they are bf properly they can't bite you but I'm not sure I want to find that out!  I would still like to keep going to 6 months though cos it's so much simpler than sterilizing and remembering to take bottles with you, I always have my boobs with me, lol!  It's good Owen is sleeping better.  Freya woke at 3 the other night but was just making the odd chatty noise so I left her to see what happened and after 5 mins she went back to sleep till 5, amazing, probably a one off though!

I can't wait to put christmas decs up.  Maybe we'll do it on sunday, I love all the fairy lights and go a bit mad with them.  The word I couldn't say when I was little was umberella, it used to be umbelebeleb and was for quite a while!

Went to the dentist this morning ad left Freya with mil, thankfully she was really good and even drank a bit from a bottle which kept her going till I came back and she could have boob.  Had a horrible filling though, had to have 2 top ups of anaethstetic and it took ages.  I had it at middday and my face was numb till 4.30.  It's horrible, I was so hungry but it's really hard to eat when you can't feel your mouth!  I'm sure the dentist thinks I'm a wimp, I thought giving birth might make me immune to pain but apparantly not!

Had a very scary moment in the car yesterday when it hit a patch of ice, luckily i was going quite slow but the whole car slid sideways towards the hedge and then slid the other way, thankfully there was no body else coming the other way and i got it back under control but I was shaking like a leaf for ages after.  When I drove past that spot today there is a car in the hedge where someone else seems to have had the same problem but weren't as lucky. Very scary.

Freya has her first ever birthday party to go to on Saturday.  My friend's little girl is 1.  I feel it could be rather chaotic but good fun.  Going to go over in the morning and help her prepare for the madness!

hope you are all well, I'm off to bed now.

Gem and Freya

Hi Gem, I notice the threads are getting quieter! the babies must be becoming more demanding on our time! Grace however is still just sleeping, eating, and pooping I will make the most of this quiet time when I can just cuddle her whenever I want!

It is scary driving isnt it? Im not supposed to drive until 6 weeks after my section but I had a sneaky drive last night as I need to drive to a doctors appointment today for Grace and it was really scary but needed to see if I was able to drive after 6 weeks out of the car lol, you were lucky that you didnt end up in the hedge too!

How are you and  Freya doing?

x claire and Grace 4 weeks and 1 day old! x

Hi Claire,

Yes, it is getting qiueter but there didn't seem to be that many of us September mums anyway, not compared to your very busy november thread! We've had a busy week this week and today is the first day we've had nothing on so we've spent the morning playing and she's now attached to my boob!  We're going out for a walk in a bit and i might bake a cake later if she'll let me!

Freya is great, she's really starting to do more stuff now, really working on the rolling but she can't manage to roll right over yet.  She loves her play mat, especially the mirror! Can't wait to see what she thinks of the christmas decorations.

Gem and Freya 12 weeks old today (oh my god, where is the time going!)

Hi again

A lot of people have said we have a busy thread lol thought it was normal! It is probably because we all got pregnant on valentines day lol!

Its really exciting when they start to do new things but I am making the most of her while she is tiny and not wish her little life away he he

I would love to go for a walk but it is POURING down with rain here after heavy snow yesterday so the paths are all slushy and horrible! I have a hospital appointment o check Graces hips later so have to go out at some point

Wow 12 weeks? I remember reading your post when you were going into hospital lol!

We still have 2 babies left to be born on our thread! the december babies have already started to arrive too!

x claire x
