Hi all,

Im sure many of you would have ssen me floating about this site but now im in desperate need of some advise.

My last period was the 22nd April. I have a 30 days cycle. Period that was due the 22nd May never came and neither did the one that was due on the 21st June. I have done numerous tests which have all came back negative. Had a blood test done approx 9th June which came back negative. Doctors arent being much help. They havent even examined my stomache, they just tell me to wait it out and keep testing.

I keep having some pregnancy symptoms which come and go. Bach ache, head aches, nausea, extreme extreme tiredness- more to the point exhaustion, very bad skin which ive never suffered from, boobs seem to hav got bigger but not sore, greasy hair, i did put weight on but seem to have lost a little again and i do get the occasional mild stomach cramps which make me think the witch may be looming but then never shows.

I do have a pelvic organ scan booked for the 19th September but thats for fertility reasons as im 21 and have been trying for a baby for 18months.

Has any one ever been this late and what was your outcome? Any advice would be very much appreciated as my periods are normally regular so im very confused as to what my body is doing at the moment.

PLEASE HELP!

Hi Laura i have not experienced any of what your going through as i've had 3 relatively usual experiences (thank god). I am one of 3 children i was born 73 my brother 75 and my baby brother 1980. Mum had normal signs with us first two but negative results until she was 5 months pregnant and she made a big fuss and insisted on a scan as she could feel the baby kicking. She was scanned and it confirmed she was 5 months pregnant but she also had been having some very lite periods. I have never heard of someone else experiencing what she did and it must be very rare, certainly no one else in our family has ever had the same issues.

You should go and see a woman Dr at your gps and explain that your feeling depressed now and if you could be scanned you could at least than come to terms with either a pregnancy or that theres another issue that needs resolving. Septembers a long time away and if your worrying that might delay your period more.

Fingers crossed for you honey as it sounds like emotionally like your going through the mill you need to try and be open minded incase it is something else thats stopping your periods. Stress can do serious things to your periods but i will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get your little baby soon

thanks Debbie. I come to terms with the fact that im not pregnant, justunusually late but as soon as i do that, the symptoms start up again.

Im going to call my GP tomorrow and see if she can sort somethign out because if there is something wrong id rather known sooner than later.

Thanks for your reply and ill keep you posted on the outcome.

Hi Laura

Was just wondering how u were getting on?? Read your thread....It must be awful what ur going through, bless you.

When I was pregnant with my little boy I just knew I was pregnant, but 3 tests later & still neg results!! Went to GP, as u describe they are worse than useless!! His answer was 'You'll either bleed or get Positive result...whichever comes first' (Well thanks!!) Luckily for me they took urine that day & it came back Positive!

Anyway...just hope ur doing ok

Hey LHutch,

Still no sign of my period what so ever. I havent tested for a while now but im not getting any signs of pregnancy. thinkl ive came to terms with the fact that my body is just being really really crual. I occasional feel sick and start to heave but apart from that, Nothing. Its so hard. I just wish my body would sort itself out.

If i was pregnant i would surely have some form of a bump by now as id be about 11 weeks i think.

Hope your well and thanks for asking how im doing.

Laura, your gp should offer you a scan at the very least now, to find out what is going on, you could have a "blighted ovum" or whats known as a chemical pregnancy, where an egg HAS fertilised but no baby is growing, that would give you the symptoms you describe.  Hope everything turns out ok. hugs xxxx

Hey Karen.

I have a scan booked for September as we are now looking into fertility testing due to the amount of time we have been trying for.

Are you still trying, i havent seen you on the thread for a while but then again i havent been around much either.

Im feeling so low today. just feel like bursting into tears. I have no idea why.

Laura - you may still be pg, i'm 22 weeks and no bump so thats no a guarateed sign that your not.

I think you need to keep pestering the docs for an earlier scan to give you peace of mind either one way or the other waiting till sept is ridiculus. Docs annoy me as they seem to mess genuine people about but idiots/time wasters get all the tests under the sun!!!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope you get some good news.

Thanks Jess,

All they keep giving me is urine pregnancy tests. Im nearly 3 months late and have only been given 1 blood test which was in May. The past week i havent been thinking too much about it but today im feeling so emotional and teary.

I just wish they would take me seriously. Im going to go back on Monday to take another sample in and if that comes back negative again then im going to push until they do omething, or consider going private as its starting to get me down now and i cant afford for this to effect me emotionally like it is doing.

Thanks for your post and congrats on your pregnancy. hope everything is going well for you.

i will do Jess, as i said this has gone on long enough now and either way i just want some answers. Even if im not pregnant (which i dought i am) i would just like it confirmed instead of being passed pilla to post.

The doctor offered me a pill to start my periods but as they had not examied or tested to make sure im definitly not pregnant i refused to take it.

Show/hide user stats

i don't blame you, i wouldn't take the pill either untill i knew for sure either

I will keep you posted as to how i get on. Hopefully i will get some answers soon as its starting to get ridiculous now i think. I have never known any one to be this late and not know why. nealry 3 months without a period is a long time.

Hi there,

just wanted to say thanks for this post. I am experiencing similar. I have all the symptoms of pregnancy, but have had negative home tests and now a negative blood test as well. My GP didn't listen to me properly and has offered no further explanation or exploration of my symptoms. I am now taking the view that all I can do is wait to see. All the best to you xx

Hi 22sprog. How late are you?

Keep pushing your doctor to look into it further. You have a right to a second opinion and answers! If you are not pregnant they there may be another cause for your delayed period. Such as PCOS which may be what i have, and its now being looked into. Are you normally regular?

I hope you get the answers you want and i hope you get them soon.

Keep me posted as to the outcome.

Love and best wishes.
