Hi Lyndsey

If you go back to the previous pages you might find some info that will help you out a bit, Im sorry to hear you had such a bad time of it, I know exactly how that can leave you feeling even years later.

Good luck with your pregnancy and fingers crossed you get to the birth experience that you want !!!

Hi all

I had an elective c-section with my 1st solely because she was breech & my hosp don't deliver 1st babies vaginally if breech.  I remember when I had 34 wk scan I was told this; I was really upset as I wanted a "natural" birth and also cos I knew from pals it is extra hard to BF recovering from a c-section (esp if you're a rookie!).  But in the end it was all very calm and tho I hated the thought of being cut open whilst awake, and the spinal was very uncomfortable - the bottom line is, what is best for your baby.

I do think recovery takes longer but it is hard to think of that when you are still pregnant and can't think past the birth!  Eg I had to buzz the MWs to lift Mollie each time, plus stairs were hard.  And you won't believe how many times a day/night you get in & out of bed, & that was an effort in itself.

The other thing is, natural birth squeezes out the fluid from baby's lungs so it is better from that point of view.

If you ask doctors & MWs what is best for your baby, they will usually give you the straight answer.

And I think the fear of childbirth is nothing compared to the fear I will feel the first time she gets behind the wheel of a car...!

Karen
