Hi there,
I'm writing a feature for New Woman magazine and I'm looking to interview and photograph a woman (aged between 20-35) for a sensitive and non-judgemental feature about multiple miscarriage.
If you're interested in taking part or you'd like more details, please email ginafinegan@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Gina
That sounds very interesting - I've had 3 consec miscarriages - 1st one was at 35 and my 3rd one was just before I turned 37 - so I'm out of your age range too, but hope you find someone. Still no baby, but still live in hope!
All the best

No, I had all the normal blood tests done and chromosomal tests etc. for me and my hubby, but the results came up with nothing out of the ordinary. The consultant gave me a prescription for an extra 5 mg of folic acid, and said i could also try taking a low dose of aspirin if I wanted to, but he just said that there's no guarantees I won't miscarry again, but then there's no reason why i shouldn't have a halthy pregnancy either... so i suppose it is just a case of try again and hope for the best! Sometimes I wished they had found something because then at least they may have been able to resolve it and therefore stop me miscarrying again. With my last mc, i got to 15+2 weeks and thought perhaps this is 3rd time lucky and then lost it. So all that stuff about once you get to 12 wks, the chances of a miscarrying fall dramatically, is a load of rubbish. I don't think that I will ever be able to relaxeand ejoy being pregnant when I eventually fall again, because at the back of my mind there will always be that doubt. I have to admit I feel really apprehensive about trying again - which is why I've waited 6 months since my last mc to start ttc again.
So have you got any other children, or like me, is this your first child (apart from the 3 babies you lost)?

just 3 heaven babies myself no other living children. my miscarriages were at 11weeks 3 days, 8weeks 6days and 4weeks, my first miscarriage was an unknown cause i had tests done and nothing showed up, but when i got pregnant this time they found out i was Rh- and that was actaully the cause of my 2nd and 3rd miscarriage which could have be prevented by a injection it was caused when i lost my first baby because his blood mixed with mine he was rh+ so i formed anti-bodies aggenst rh+, this baby was lucky to be alive the only reason they never found it in my last pregnancies is because thats not tested for until 12week and i never made it that far before so... anyways at the start of this pregnant i found out i have a revelovted uterus (which caused me to implant at 7weeks2days with his baby) and then at 13weeks i found out about my Rh- so this pregnancy has solved alot, but also caused more problems for myself and its a mirical that the baby actaully surived at all but he has so thats great really, i have not enjoied this pregnancy at all, but i have had alot of problem with his pregnancy and 10 trips to the hospital thinking he had died only to be scanned and be told he was fine it was me that was fallen apart, i have suffered alot of depression in this pregnancy but getting there only 8weeks 5days till my EDD but midwife looking at me going alot earlier than that cause i have two admissions to hospital with pre-term labour so.... but at least the wee mans hanging out, i hope you get a baby soon and i am so sorry that this has happened to you expecially your late miscarriage thats awful for you, and totally understand what you mean about the tests i was like that, just better to find something than be left in the dark ah?
i'll keep everything crossed for you hun
Take care and good luck

oh blimey Lynne, sorry to hear what you had to go through - I bet that made you angry, the fact that you miscarried a 2nd time and if the hospital had bothered to check the 1st time, you might have not had to go through another mc. Well I'm very glad and happy to hear that everything seems to be ok for you this time - albeit for the few scares you've had. Sending you loads of good luck wishes for the future.
it gives me hope!
You take care

hi there,
its interesting what lynne has said about developing antibodies when preg. my husbands mum started to develop antibodies when she was having her second child but was never told. so when she was preg with third child she lost the baby because the antibodies developed right from the outset. i think its awful that the doctors didnt tell her when she had 2nd child. im not sure whether this has anything to do with it but i know that her blood group was one of the more rare types either a or b. my midwife said im o positive & theres less chance of me developing antibodies as o can go with any other blood group. i was also told that it is a good chance that a babys blood group is determined by the grandparents so hopefully we'll find out cause i think people should be able to find out what blood group they are.

Hi Ali
My friend had her first baby last year and everything was fine, but they said that if she were to get pg again then she'd have to have some sort of injection, to stop her blood from destoying her next childa, so it must be quite a common thing. I'm blood group A +ve but apparently that's not a problem, so B must be the unusual one.

B is unusal but its more to do with the rhuese factor than the letter itself i am O- so good blood to have as it is universal but its bad in pregnancy because it kills off everything thats not -blood groups so its really not a good thing at all only 15% of the population are rh-, A i think is the most common blood group then, O then B and then AB, and O- is the only one that can be given to everyone in the world without it being rejected but it is pretty rare but good to have i guess means no matter what happens to anyone in my family they can use me as a blood donner (not that i would want to be one cause phobia of needles but its a good thing to have) my blood is most commonly used in premature babies actaully which is pretty amazing in my eyes so i like it in that sense but not in the sense where it wills my babies, but this ones a fighter, the injections you are talking about are called anti-d its a blood product that coats the cells that kill off baby's red blood cells so its protects the baby, most if not all rh- women have to carry a special card about with them stating they are rh- and they are meant to get anti-d injections after birth, some places give routine anti-d injections at 28 and 34 weeks some don't but you must be given one after a bleed or an acident (ie car crash or fall), its a complicated thing but i have read alot about it and it still doesn't really make sense to m.... but hope your friend doesn't suffer how many women have with this
Take care, good luck and lucky you for being A+ I'm so jelous lol
Talk soon

Hi, i have 4 children and i am an O reshus D mother, my children were positives and i carried them no trouble, i had a miscarrige and was give an anti D injection so my next baby would be fine and he was, i have had 2 more since him and expecting my 4th now. I strongly advise you to tell them as soon as you have given birth to get you your anti D injection otherwise you will miscarry any further babies in the future. Did your midwife give you a card stating your blood group? you need anti D injections if you suffer any spotting, a fall or threatened miscarrige and after giving birth. It is annoying to read the pain you have been throu because some stupid doc couldnt do their job proper. This should of been picked up on long ago. Your body see's your baby as a foreign body and kills it off. This should of been picked up on by a simple blood test. You have suffered so much and i feel so sorry for you, I so hope your birth goes well and you get that long awaited baby you both deserve!! good luck and take care

i had my son at 33weeks of pregnancy on 22nd june, he is O+ baby and had anti-d it didn't work, had testing but they don't know why, since i had become pregnant again and miscarried now bringing that to a total of 4miscarriages.... they doctors say my chances are low of having another living child! so just dealing with james and his GERD and knowing how much of a mirical he is!
