Girls as you know, I'm still waiting to have mine but its an honour to set this one up as well. I cant wait to join you on here so we can swap glorious stories as we have done over the past nine months (well 10 months to be precise). Kirst, maybe you can copy the recent list of births and put them on here as well? We just need to update them once a new mummy comes over here....

Ah ha, I have found the new thread. Lois - I can't believe you're still waiting, I feel quite guilty that Oscar arrived so early. Well done Kirsty for you're due date delivery - our babies will now share the same birthday. Oscar has been recorded in notes as being nearly 7lbs 9oz as well, so they lied to us when he was first born. His full name is Oscar Barrie Hayter, and when I am a bit more with it I will add some photos of him so you can see my little star (he's gorgeous - but then a mother has to say that!). Right think I will get some sleep before he wakes up for his next feed, he seems to do that far too often

Oh found the new thread too! I hope everybody is doing OK and enjoying their babies! I am loving mine! MW just been and done the heel prick test! Lilly is so good she hardly cried! Then she had a really good breastfeed afterwards and back to sleep! Oh I do hope she stops like this for a bit!! My scar is doing well too and my uterus is retracting well! Congrats to you rach on the birth of baby Oscar! Looks like you went through a bit of a trial like me! But our babies are both healthy and that's the main thing! Are you sorry you didn't get your homebirth? Oh Lilly wants a feed! Better go! Speak soon! Lou + Lilly x

Hey Kirsty just realised - we both gave birth on our due dates! How mad is that? It's so unusual!
Rach, you funny one, you have nothing to feel guilty about - I think my bubba is just so stubborn like his mummy so we will just have to wait. It is frustrating though....It really does sound like you 3 have perfected BF - I hope I'm the same when I finally get there...cant wait to see the pics
Yeah Lou and Kirst, your the lucky one there....it definately its unsuall!!!Not jeolous at all
Louise - I don't regret not having a home birth at all as I know I couldn't have delivered him any other way. Sorry, I haven't managed to catch up on all the other posts so I haven't heard about your birth - could you give me a little synopsis?!?!? My scar is also healing very nicely - my mw said I had a perfectionist do it, she knows him personally and said he is very good.

Oh my waters broke and I ended up been induced! It didn't work so I had to have a section! When Lilly was 20 mins old she started breathing really fast and wasn't getting enough oxygen so she had to go in an incubator for 10 hours to get some oxygen. Also they thought she might have an infection as waters had gone so she had to have anitbiotics! ut we were out and day 3 and she is doing really well now! Saw your post about bf! I had that problem! Lilly latched on beautifully on my left breast but wouldn't go on my right! So when the mw came round she showed me how to hold her like a rugby ball so she thought she was getting the same breast! It has worked a treat and now she feeds from both sides! Well Lilly is alseep so I am going to have a nap! Hope the jaundice goes down a bit more Rach! Lou x

Strangely enough Louise earlier on we were reading a book called Complete First Year Planner and that said about how to tuck baby under your arm so you are holding them the same way as you would be on the other breast so last feed (finished about 5mins ago!) I tried that and he seemed to latch on better, although I suppose it'll take some time now for the soreness to go down. We keep moving his bed around so he is next to the window to help his jaundice go down, so hopefully mw will say he's improved tomorrow. He is no where near as bad as he was in hospital as he is still very, very alert when awake and feeding regularly - when he became jaundice in hospital all he wanted to do was sleep. Glad to hear everything is going well now after the initial problems - our little babies make up for anything that we have had to endure.

_(WinCE).jpg) HI Rach & Lou, so you both had a c section in the end, how come Rach, i think Lou yours was booked if i remember right. Anyway glad to see you are doing well, give me a bit of time so i can read up on the other thread and find out the stories. Time for my babys night feed then bed time so catch you later xx aint it so nice having our babies home, gosh we are lucky xx

No Kirst I didn't have a planned section! My waters broke and they induced me but it didn't work! So I had to have a section! It's OK though - as long as Lilly and me are fine it doesn't matter! Rach have you been using Lansinoh? That's what I have and it has worked a treat! My nipples aren't half as sore! I just rub it on after every feed and when I get ready for bed at night! Lilly was a bit jaundice when she was born too but it has all gone now! Just keep feeding and it will wash out of him! You are so right though - all these trials and triabulations are worth it just to hold our little babies! Lilly is getting so alert now! She is opening her eyes all the time and looking around! And she definitely recognises her Mum's voice! And she loves it when her dad talks to her!I feel so lucky ot have such a gorgeous baby girl!! xx

Ah Rach Oscar is so cute!! I love his hood with the ears on!!
Yes Louise I keep rubbing the Lanisoh in, and am using leaking milk too! Nipples seem to be fine during the day, but when it gets to the evening I think they've just been used soooo much that they are knackered! I will definately perserve though as Oscar is generally really good at latching on - just wish he wouldn't sometimes throw the milk back up, I always think what a waste Oscar has always been really alert. When the mw came round on Wed she held him and he was holding his own head up looking around and she was saying 'look at this, he shouldn't be able to do this'! I think he's just nosey like his mother! I also can't believe how lucky I am, it just seems amazing that less than 10 months ago I was just getting married and now I have a fantastic little boy as well. His jaundice is improving, but a friend came round with her new baby yesterday and I couldn't believe how much like a Simpson Oscar still looked compared to her!

Whooooohoooo...I can 'officailly' come on this thread now.....Whoooooooo!!! My labour story is in the other thread. Got to go now but just a quickie, nipples are so sore...my milk hasnt come in yet, howver, yesterday i put some vaseline on it, which is what i have been puting on through out preg cos my mum swore on as she didnt suffer from sore nipples during pregnancy, anyway, put some on and when it was my baby's feeding time, she didnt like it at all.....she just did not want the breasts. So my qestion really is I cant remember who said what about putting some cream on but does your baby still take the breast ithout turning his her nose??? I'll have to re-read messages to find out who was talking about it.... Be back soon though...

Hey Rach saw your little Oscar has a time of day when he is really awake and alert! My Lilly keeps doing that! She will stay awake for like 4/5 hours and just won't go down! She is not crying or anything but just awake! Then she has a really good sleep afterwards! Lois get some lansinoh like me and Rach! You can use it all the time and you don't have to wipe it off to feed baby! Lilly doesn't mind it! Well we have had a two trips out with Lilly! We went to Saisnburys last ngiht and we have been to town today! She was so good - we timed it so she had just had a feed! She slept the whole time!! Can't believe we were actually pushing her pram about!! Lou + Lilly xxx

_(WinCE).jpg) Oh Lois So glad that you now have your baby, i will read your birth story but for now im going to bed for a rest as we are having so many visitors its driving me mad every day 2 lots so far!!!! urrrrrrrr. Lou you are so brave taking Lilly out, im too scared now and as i have stitched inside and out im waiting a bit longer so i dont walk around like john wayne. Oh nipples ive been lucky with them there fine apart from leaking all day and night, and what a waste of milk i think. Rach I had a look at your pics and Oscar looks soooo cute, and they were born on the same day too. Anyway girls we are alllllll sooooooooo lucky to have our babies and im off to bed now with mine xxxxxxxxx

_(WinCE).jpg) quick question how long are babies going inbetween feeds and how long are the feeds lasting for, Lili is going 3/4 hrs then feeding 10 mins like a truper, then having a look around then farting like her daddy then sleeping again, sooooo cute. she lifted her head up from my tummy about 1 hr after being born and shes so strong when i put her to bed she wont let go of my clothes, funny little thing x

Lois - definately get some Lanisoh, like Lou said there is no need to wipe it off before you feed baby and Oscar doesn't turn his nose up to it at all. Kirsty, like you my boobs leak day and night. Last night I was sitting in the lounge reading some posts giving my boobs some air and when I looked down I had leaked all over the cushions! I too think what a waste. I have bought some nipple shells that you can use to catch the milk you leak from one boob when baby is feeding on the other one, you can then store this milk, but I am yet to try them. I think I may use them as Oscar gets older so Baz can do a feed or two occasionally with a bottle, but I don't want to confuse Oscar at the moment as he is doing soooo well on the breast. Oscar varies greatly with feeds, sometimes as little as 1hr and sometimes up to 4hrs between (I don't let him go any more than that because he still needs to wash the billirubin out of his body so I need to keep him hydrated). He tends to feed a minimum of 10mins up to around 35mins (20mins on first boob, then 15mins on second), but it varies greatly. Think Oscar has a strong neck because of the position he would have been in in the womb, not sure whether I said in my labour story but he was OP, so coming out face first, which meant his head was tipped back, so since birth he has been able to hold his own head up. We went out for a short walk this afternoon in the pram and all Oscar did was cry, he seems to be having a day when he wants a lot of attention, cause when I picked him up and carried him he stopped immediately - think he's going to be a mummy's boy
