Hi Mary & Laura,
Underwired mat & nursing bras are hard to come by because they can, unless fitted by a PROPERLY trained fitter, cause damage to the underlying mammary tissue (a huge issue if you want to BF)- I can't breast feed for medical reasons, & never had the 'coming in of milk' pain as I had a crash section & for some reason mother nature kept that thrill from me - perhaps she knew??? - but still - from the gargantuan proportions my titties achieved in pregnancy, I can't even think of a time I wanted an underwire to support them - I just wanted support & COMFORT!!!
As Laura can confirm, I'm a big girl, but I got my 2 person hammocks - oops - sorry - HUGE maternity bras (44g-j pregnancy (size 42 dd pre preg - OK - so they were gargantuan too!!)) from mothercare. OK, so they're not the most glam of bra's, but they are supportive & having had huge titties all my life, I can honestly say if they were more flattering to the v-fronted tops I have, I'd live in them forever!!
Remember ladies, you leave your dignity at the door when you give birth, no matter whether it's natural, assisted or caesarian - so who the hell gives a bugger about your bra - if you want to BF, get the most comfortable, well fitted non-wired one you can - but don't get fitted until you're at least 38 weeks - Laura - get your gorgeous butt down to Newport Rd., Cardiff Mothercare rather sharpish, & Mary - Good Luck - hope all went / goes well for you
Love
Amanda & Abi xx
