Hi everyone, my 8 month old son is happily eating pretty much any puree I give him, but if I try to give him anything with a bit more texture (the 'stage 2' foods) he just gags on it and ends up being sick.  I've tried a few times with different things.  Should I assume he's just not ready and wait a bit before trying again, or keep at it as the stage 2 food is meant for babies over 7 months and as he's over 8 months old now he should be starting to get the hang of it?

Thanks...

Hi Angela!! i wouldnt worry about food - all of my kids have been a pain in the butt when it came to "lump" transition, and a couple of them didnt want to know until they were nearly 1!! my latest is 8 months too and shes just the same, she will eat soft buscuits and crisps but proper food is a no no!! LOL little monkey!!!! Just give him finger foods every so often and another tip which i found to work quite well is purree HALF the jar of food/your own and just either mash the rest or if its a jar leave little lumps in, then they slowly get more used to having "bits" to contend with. Hope i've helped. xxxxxxxxx

Thanks, I'll definitely try the half and half method you suggested...
