Hi everyone,
Need a little advice on which car seat to buy for my 9 month old baby girl?! What do most of you use or what would you recommend? Keeping in mind it needs to fit into the back of my Ford Fiesta. I went to Mothercare but they only have seats that fit in the front, which I thought was a bit bizarre. Does anyone have the same car and which car seat do you use? Thanks in advance!

Hi Anna,
not sure if you're still needing advice but we got the maxi-cosi priori. It has really great safety features such as plenty of padding (side impact protection and head protection) and padded shoulder straps which adjust to 3 positions. Fully reclining seat - with 5 different positions and its really easy to adjust - one hand mechanism.

My 2 yr old daughter seems to really like it - she loves the fact that she can see out the window and must be comfy in it as she falls asleep pretty easily in it!

Its also really easy to clean! I haven't (yet) had to actually remove the seat cover to wash it and after 1 yr it still looks brand new!

There are great clips on the side of the seat to put the straps into (once you've taken your baby out), which are a brilliant addition as I never struggle to find the straps underneath my daughter when I've put her in.

Hope that helps!

I never thought of Halfords Luke. Good tip, thanks! I think I'll pop over there after work this evening. I haven't had another chance to go looking since I first posted!

Hi Anna,

I agree with Heidi - the Maxi-Cosi is great, the seat belt hooks are very practical. Like you I have a 9 month old son and have just bought a second stage seat. I would recommend that you go to a retailer that fits the seats for you as the will recommend the best seat for your car. I went wanting a Brittax but ended up with the Maxi-Cosi as it fitted my car better.

From my experience I would say go with an open mind and see what they recommend. Good luck :)

Another good point, thanks Amanda, that had half slipped my mind from last time.
I'm not sure whether Halfords offer that service, but there's a toys r us in he same retail park so I'll check at both tonight. Will especially look out for the Maxi to see if it fits.

Thanks!

I'm also looking for a new car seat for my 22 month old son. He can reach the seat belt in his current seat and pulls it (great game!) which obviously spells danger to my husband and I. I would like the new car seat to be from birth (as hubby and I are planning another baby soon and don't want to be stuck with three different seats. Any ideas? Please help.
