Hi Ruth, i'm sure it's different for each person.

I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks, and was taken into hospital for the day 3 days later to have 2 sets of 2 pills throughout the day which made me bleed everything in my womb out. I bled for 9 days after that, and then had what seemed like a normal cycle for me the next month. But i've known people to go for 2 months without a period after a miscarriage, I guess it just depends on your body.

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage x x x

I had a missed miscarriage at 12 and half weeks. 2 weeks later im still bleeding, does anyone know how long the bleeding will last for? I have to do another pregnancy test in a couple of days as my pregnancy hormones in my blood were high two weeks ago.

Hi sloops, can I ask what you chose to do in terms of clearing your womb out?

I chose 'medical management', and I bled for 9 days but a couple of people I know have bled for around 3 weeks when they have had a D&C because there were some retained 'products' or they were scratched abit too hard inside.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage x x

with my second miscarriage i was left to bleed out as they said my body had already started th process most people opt for d&c but i say it depends on the person themselves

HUGS and have a good xmas and new year all

Hi everyone hope you all had a great christmas.
Im back to ttc again as I had a mc on xmas eve so spent xmas eve and xmas day in hosp not what I wanted especially as it was my baby girls 1st xmas but have to stay positive for the sake of the kids at least we can try again once the bleeding has stopped but don't know whether too try as this is my 2nd mc finding it hard and hope the next pregnancy has a happier ending

Hi everyone, I was given no options in terms of clearing my womb out. As I was due for my 12 week scan this confirmed I had miscarried and there was little remaining. I have finally stopped bleeding but it took over three weeks for this to happen. Hopefully now my body is sorting itself out just dont know how long to leave it before trying again.

Angela, hope your next pregnancy does have a happier ending, fingers crossed for both of us and anyone else who is ttc. xx

hi sloops,

midwife told me its good to let your body get back into a routine, so if you were to wait for two cycles, you could start trying again after this. its really up to you and how you feel at the time, best of luck to you!

Thanx. Its hard to know what to do for the best. Iv had no help, support or advise from the hospital or midwife as this was my first pregnancy so all they have said to me is its very common, your young and can try again. They seem to forget that it was my baby and not 'just a feotus' as one doctor told me. My GP said 6-12months but I didnt want to wait that long as it seems Il be waiting forever.
Thanx for replying, im so pleased I found this forum!! xx

Hi sloops and ali I was told by the consultant I saw after my mc on xmas eve that I could try straight away as they only advise waiting so they can date the pregnancy easier so good luck to us all and lets hope 2007 will be a good year

Angela, thats certainly more positive then anything else I have been told. Its now been 4 weeks since my mc, once Iv had a period we have decided to try again so my new years resolution is to eat healthier and stop smoking again!! (i didnt smoke when I was pregnant but started after the mc)my body will hopefully be in better condition and things will hopefully work out!! Let me know how things go for you.xx
