Maternity Clothes

Hey,

Is anyone else having trouble finding decent maternity clothes ?

I am a size 20 in clothes and cannot seem to find plus size maternity clothes that are reasonably priced. Alot of the sites i have been on are wanting £50 for a pair of black work trousers  

Im sorry but i feel for the amount of things you have to buy for a new baby and the cost of the essentials i think that £50 is rather expensive for something you are only going to be in for a few months then put in the bin.

I too grudge paying any money for stuff you'll only wear for a few months, especially when there SO MUCH STUFF to buy for baby.  You should try looking on ebay.  I've got quite a few pairs of practically new maternity jeans for hardly anything (£5 or £6).

Thanx daw, i hadnt even thot of there. My cousin gave me a few pair of combat trousers but i need more dressy clothes for work. I will def try ebay, thanx.

I can't afford ANY maternity clothes as they are just so overpriced!!! you'd think with everything else a baby needs and all the costs they would cut us some slack trying to find pregnancy clothing.

At the mo i'm actually squeezing into a pair of old tracksuit bottoms, that have actually cut my skin on my hips they are that tight Other than that i wear some linen pants but i cant wear them now as they are really thin and too cold to wear!

Mothercare is a no-go-zone for me as the prices are ridiculous...£24.99 for a tankini?!!! that amount of money has to last me half a week to live on!! so to go swimming i got myself some cheap mens shorts from sports shop and pushed my boobs into my bikini...size A..my boobs are now a d...so it was really uncomfy!

I just wish somwere like Primark would make maternity clothes, not too expensive!! xx

Peacocks do maternity clothes and maternity pjs which are great but i am the same even new look are quite expensive.

My sister is a size bigger than me so its great cos she is just back her hols so she has a new tankini and swim suit so cant really complain about that until i get really big then that'll be me stuck.

I wid love it if primark done the maternity clothes it wud be so much easier. I find the only place to get them is on ebay which sometimes is quite expensive for 2nd hand clothes but at the same time alot cheaper than the shops. x x

Tara - i don't know if this would help but i've been nicking hubbys clothes and just been doing them up under bump (his legs are shorter than mine but it doesn't matter as i do them up lower). He's got some jeans he no longer wears they're 34/6 waist and 29inside leg if you want them let me know - i will double check with him when he gets home but i'm sure that'd be fine. 

Another good invention I've discovered is the belly band (also available on ebay - brand new- for about £3).  I've got a white one and a black one.  You wear it round your belly to give you support and it means some of your normal (bigger) clothes still fit and you stay comfy all day...which is the most important part for me! 

You could always try here...  Bon Prix    I have purchased clothes from this site before, cheap but good quality. Its not maternity wear but you dont begrudge paying £10 for trousers for work then.. Other place is Bon Marche, I know it appears to be abit old fashioned but they do have some smart black trousers.. I am assuming that you just need elasticated waists?? Not needing it yet myself so looking for tips too for (hopefully) future so be interested to know if they are any good for when I start needing them

When I was pregnant i shopped in H&M, Topshop, Mothercare, Next, etc.

I have kept all my old maternity clothes. I lent them to my cousin and her baby was 9 weeks early so she didnt get much wear out of them. Ive got them back now as TTC again.

I agree about the baby bump wrap... it means you can wear some of your normal tops/trousers etc without exposing your bump.

Also you can invest in wrap tops/dresses... so you just tie them a bit tighter once youve given birth - also v.gd if you breast feed. Also empire line tops and ponchos are good... as grow/shrink with you.

Well ladies, i found dolphinfashions.co.uk and bump4joy.co.uk were not bad in terms of price and quality. Hope this will helps someone!
