I thought I would start a thread where we larger ladies could support each other and offer tips and advice.,
A bit about me... My name is Tara, 28 in a few weeks, married with one beautiful daughter Demiana who has just turned 3 and Im feeling more motivated that ever to lose the xtra baby weight... shes not really a baby anymore and I really want to have another but want to lose some weight first.
I currently weigh 16 stone 12lb and have lost 5lb in the past 3 weeks.
I also have another incentive... my sister is getting married in September and dont want to be a fat and frumpy matron of honour!!
I put on 4 stone when pregnant with my daughter and lost about 3 stone after the birth and within the first year,,,, but another stone and a half has crept back on again... I started eating well and being more active a few weeks ago and have already lost 5lb.... i also did the Race for LIfe 5km on Sunday and felt so good afterwards that Im thinking of doing more walking/jogging/running...
Sorry for the long post... but i though maybe we could update each other as to how we are doing weekly or something?
Hi Thanna well done on the loss!! a bit about me......
Im 25 with a little girl, Freya, I put on about 2 1/2 stone while I was pregnant, I now weigh 15 stone and a bit, its really hard loosing weight and I know my little girl is only 15 weeks old and I have plenty of time still but with the summer coming up and going on holiday in sep I want to be thin again!!!! I weighed 17 stone 3 at my heaviest and managed to loose 6 stone for my wedding in 2007 so I know I can do it!!!!
I think Im feeling a bit dispondant cause I lost weight before with a very intense exercise 3 times a week at the gym, but now we just can't afford the gym, no way!! so Its just walking and I do a lot of that so my legs are getting nice and toned!!
I think the bit I hate the most is my arms!! I worked in a florist but Im not going back till november and in the shop Im using my arms all day, they were always pretty slim, but even carrying my 14lb daughter around they seem to get bigger! probably just my imagination!?!
I've also got a wii fit and go on it when I get the chance so hopefully we will both be slimmer by september!! Its my daughters christening in August so by then would be nice too!!!
Im using the diet I tried before which is basically a vegetarian diet with lots of salad and veggies and use quorn instead of meat its amazing how fast it works!!

Walking is good.. maybe you could up the tempo and start jogging a bit... i think they say its best to walk for 3 minutes jog for one, then walk again...
Ive also got the Wii and have bought a game called Wii exercise... at £20 its much cheaper than the Wii Fit and board...
Im trying to just eat 3 meals a day and choocinghealthier options... i.e instead of croissants for breakfast.. have been having porridge and banana or a bagel with low fat cheese.... then nothing but water and coffee untillunch which is 12.30 at work... we have a free lunch so difficult not to overeat!! today had quiche and salad.... no idea whats for dinner tonight as hubby is home so will be cooking... my problem is eating after dinner...
also trying to be more active....

I weigh myself before lunch every Monday... incentive for the week ahead and also means i try harder not to be "Naughty" over the weekend knowing ill be weighed in on Monday.. I go to the local pharamcy and pay £1 and it tells me height, weight, BMI, pulse and blood pressure...
Ive been good this week apart from a huge ham sandwixh at about 10pm on Monday night!! Should really have just had a glass of water and gone to bed!!
So where are you guys based? I live and work in London... live in Edmonton and work in Marylebone... you?

My hubby has this bizarre notion that he wants to study medicine... he studied IT and is now working as a Supervisor in IKEA so not sure he has thought it through. We wouldnt be able to afford fo rhim to study anyway... its not like its a 6 month course either!
The other option is for him to do the PGCE as he was a computer teacher in Egypt before we married and he came over here.
hi guys, just a quick one before I go get tea on, Fish and Chips!! well baked cod and sin free slimming world chips!! they're actally quite nice! My husband is a customer service manager at the head quarters of calor gas, Im a florist and trained to be a colege lecturer of Florsitry last year but they got rid of my dept so im back to just a florist!!
mondays sound a good idea, with the whole week ahead to be good!

Ok so Monday will be our weigh in day - even if we weigh in on sundays...
We will come on each monday and enter our weight and what we have lost
also any thing you did well... and not so well!!
I had salmon, new potatoes and veg last night....
but then had a fruit corner and mini bag of maletesers!!! need to stock up on som very low cal snacks!!! or drink more water/be more active in the evenings....
going swimming on sunday and gonna do some ironing tonight..

i was a bit naughty yesterday as hubby and my little girl came to meet me at work and we wnet to oxfrod circus.... and of course mcdonalds!!! i had a meal but had a bottle of water instead of a fizzzy drink so a bit better.... and also walked for about 2 hours so hopefull y that helped!
I did get a shock though... medium fries are 330 calories!! ARGH!!!!
Going to be extra good today and over the weekend and hoping for a 2lb... although any loss is good!!
Ive got 12 more weigh ins until my sisters wedding and even 1lb a week would mean losing nearly a stone which i would be happy with!!!
hi guys, ooooh im beig really good so I thought Id share some tips!! just shut me up if you think they're silly, but there all proven and have worked in the past and for my MIL who has lost 5stone with slimming world I find their recipes really tasty and the more you eat the more you loose, it can be a bit complicated but we follow the 'green days' basically you can have as much fruit, veg, quorn, pasta, polenta, rice etc that you like and then have one serving of meat or fish and a bit of cheese or something as a healthy extra.
anyway, theres a thing called fry-light which is brilliant, you can par-boil chipped potatoes and then dry, spray them and a try with frylight and roast in the oven for about 30-40mins they are sooo good just like ral chips, and if you follow the green plan you can have literally as many as you can eat!!
we're going away this weekend so hopefully Ill still be good! I have to say I usually am except for a glass of wine, really must give that up too!! have a great weekend girls xxx

Well i just weighed myself and ive put on a pound this week! Too much snacking and not enough exercise!
Going to be stricter with myself this week... no snacking at all and nothing but water or fruit after my dinner!!
So today I am 16stone 13lb... next week will be 16 stone 11... thats my goal...
How did you all do? Did you weigh in?
My problem is snacking at night after my dinner.... Althugh i have been better than i used to be... i used to think nothing of having 5 choccie digestives with a cuppa... not exactly a healthy snack at about 300 calories!!
Going bowling on Saturday night for my birthday and going for sushi before so not bad food and some exercise = weight loss next week!!
Hi girls, am going to weigh tomorrow cause I don't have scales and have to use my wii fit!! just have not had time to get it out since the weekend ut will tomorrow, promise!! really hope Ive lost SOMETHING!! I have been really good!! I found a few ''good snacks!'' 1: cook some pasta lasagne sheets, all broke up, lay them on a baking sheet sprayed with fry light and then spray the top of them, sprinkle with salt and bake, they're just like crisps but ''good!!'' and 2: this ones a bit weird but bear with me!! take 3 tablespoons of nutella, mix in 4 dark rye ryvita all broken up into crumbs and stir, out it in the fridge, then when its a bit set roll into 12 balls and then put back into the fridge, they tast exactly like Ferrero Roché just have to not eat them all at once!! Ive got a box of these things called munchie seeds, they're vanila flavoured and really hit that sweet spot!!

Well I managed my first night of no snacks after dinner! Went home and had shepherds pie and then just kept drinking water all night...
Did have a small pieve of watermelon late but it tasted bad so that went in the bin!! Somebody somewhere trying to tell me something do youthink!
Have had a toasted cinnamon and raisin bagel this morning with jam...
Its a colleagues birthday today and we are going out for lunch so going to get the healthiest option....
