Hi everyone,

I've only just joined so sorry if I seem a bit lost. Im 7 weeks pregnant and confused about how I should be feeling.

Occasionally dizzy but seems to be under control as long as I remember to eat often enough. However I have no nausea at all, is this normal, is my baby healthy? I heard that if your older it might not be so bad but I'm only 32.

What I do have is a very tight tummy, like mild period pains which doctor said was my body gettin used to it but now gettin stronger pains, especially on the right side. Called mw and she said rest but for how long? how concerned should I be?

hi little em,

midwifes solutions to everything is rest!

twangs and pangs are normal for the first few weeks but if the pain on your right side persists or gets worse i would head down to your local hospital just to be sure its not ectopic or anything like that.

i had lots of pain on one side when i was early on and it turned out to be my right bowel having a bit of a grumble but it was better to be safe than sorry,.

as for not feeling sick, dont worry about it. every pregnancy is different for every woman and i wasnt or didnt feel sick at all with my son.

but this little trouble causer i ahve cooking made me sick as a dog!

you could always have a look at the due march thread, there will be plenty of women at the same satge as you there and might be feeling exactly the same, might be a bit of reassurance for you.

 congratulations anyway xxx

Hi,

If you have no nausea just be grateful, lol! Not everyone suffers and it had no bearing on how 'safe' or otherwise your pregnancy is.  I found the ms kicked in at about 7 weeks so you may still get it.  Some ladies have every symptom in the book and others sail through with nothing so I really wouldn't worry.

If you are dizzy it may be low blood sugar, in which case eating little and often should help, I had low blood pressure which made me dizzy but I just sat down and rested till it passed then carried on!

With the pains these are usually normal too, I was convinced my period was about to arrive when I tested when preg with my daughter as I had bad 'period pains' and felt like I was about to come on for a few weeks after finding out and the pains continued intermittently throughout, it is just your utereus etc stretching to accomodate your growing baby.  It the pains get worse or you start bleeding then call your docs/midwife to be on the safe side.

I hope that put your mind at rest for now.  why don't you join your due date thread on here, all the ladies are lovely and supportive, my dd is nearly 2 and I still chat to people on here.

good luck and enjoy your pregnany.

Thank you for the re assurance!

I feel much calmer now

I suppose your first is always a worry cause  don't know what to expect and I'm just so thankful to be pregnant as it was unsure weather I'd conceive naturally.

I spent yesterday resting and feel a little better but now got to go back to work so I shall take your advise and go get checked out if it gets any worse.

As far as ms goes I'll just enjoy not having it then don't mind at all!!

Thank you!! and ill also join the March thread xxxx
