Hi everybody!!

I'm going to try and make this short.

My last period was 13th aug. since then i've been into hospital to have a kidney stone removed. in the hospital, they told me i was pregnant and then told me i wasn't. I had e-rays and a op to remove the stone. since i've been out of hospital i still haven't had a period and have done several home tests to see if i was pregnant, all came up negative. That was until last weekend. On sunday my boyfriend was cooking and i could smell everything and it really knocked me sick, i didn't think anything of it really and then the night after, we decided to order a pizza, when i open the pizza box i could of literally threw up! My boyfriend told me to do a test, i wasn't that bothered cause i thought it would of come up negative like all the others have i've done in the past few weeks. so when i came up positive, since monday night i've done 3 more tests and they are all positive. Im dead excitied that they are positive, i'm just confused when my due date will be. if i go by the period that means i'm 7 weeks gone. i've had a few symptoms, like being sick and my breasts are a bit sore and feel a bit tired. Can anybody shed any light. Sorry to waffle on a bit!! xxx

When I went to my doctors to get my last pregnancy confirmed, he told me they work it out by counting 2 weeks from your last period, so your guess of 7 weeks sounds about right. If you go to your doctor he'll probably pull out a rather snazzy circle calender thingy and work out your due date for you :)

Congratulations by the way!! Hope everything runs smoothly for you and keep us updated!

Thanks Trisha!! I have sent off a urine sample today, i'm just in the middle of changing my doctors as i have just moved house. The nurse said shes going to ring me monday to tell me the results and sort out an appointment with the midwife.

I will keep you updated!!

Hi Lorraine,

congratulations! i think you have worked your dates out right and like Trisha says the doctor will be able to give you an actual due date. From what i understand, pregnancy tests work by measuring a hormone that increases as your pregnancy progresses, so when you did the first tests there might not have been enough to trigger a positive result.

good luck with everything and best wishes!

Just throught i would give you a update. I've seen the doc today, he seems to think i'm about 6 or 7 weeks pregnant. He said the op and all the x-rays i had in august, shouldn't of harmed the baby. He's sending me for a early pregnancy scan next week, which i'm quite nervous about, luckily my boyfriend will be with me to hold my hand. I have got my first appointment with the midwife this week too.

2nd update!! I said yesterday that the doc is sending me for a early scan tomorrow. I'm really nervous, i just don't know what to expect. Can you hear a heartbeat so early on? Will they be able to tell the baby will be alright?!?!

Any advice anybody?!

Thanks

Hi everybody. Been for my scan today, they couldn't find anything through my stomach so they did an internal one, where they found the fluid sack. She said i was about 5 weeks pregnant, and i've got to go back in 5 weeks to have another scan and she said there should be a heartbeat, so fingers crossed everything is going to be ok. She did say everything was in the right place for the baby to develop.
