Hey Girls - hope you dont mind me gatecrashing!

Thought I'd pop on and say hi on your month Mummy2b!! been following the posts a show - exciting really hope bambino makes an appearance soon for you!! Still got 7 weeks feels like a lifetime getting soooooooo impatient.  How about your lovely man is he off with you or trying to save his paternity leave?  How overdue are you now, dont fancy induction myself just sounds a bit pushy - anyway best of luck!!

ps  Have you heard from Amanda and Sam havn't seen anything for a while was wondering how they're getting on!

Hi girls

Well, the wait continues!! I had more of a 'show' late last night but still just clear coloured!! Went to bed with 'period type' cramps and sensations but woke up this morning and all subsided again!!! I am going for a medal for the latest baby at this rate!!! LOL

Clare - good to hear from you and thanks for the encouragement - I was driving myself mad at 4 days overdue so now I am going totally nuts!!!

Sue - Hi hun, how are you? My OH is still going to work and good job as if he had taken pat leave he would be finished it before this wee one decides to arrive!!! At least his boss is being flexible and allowing him to wait till the birth to start leave... By my cycle dates I was due 30th Aug and due 1st Sept by scan so quite overdue now!!! I have mw on Wed and really hoping baby comes before then as it will be a battle over induction if not!! I want an examination and monitoring and given the results to discuss with OH before anything else whereas they'll be really keen to push induction but hey ho they'll just have to accept I am a stubborn person!!!! (LOL - probably why baby is too!!!)

I speak to Amanda by email now and again - she is doing really well following the sad sad time they have all been through - haven't heard from her for a wee bit but she has asked me to let her know when baba arrives so will hopefully be emailing her soon!!! I speak to Sam on IM now and then too - Baby Lucy is doing great and sounds like such a gem, sleeping so well!!

The next few weeks will fly in for you I am sure... hope you don't go over and have to go through this wait! The last week has felt longer than the whole pregnancy!!!!

Take Care

M

hi all, do we have an updataed list of who had what and details??

i had baby joe on 23rd august. had a bit of a difficult birth and afterwards, but it was all soooo worth it. joe lost 15% of his birth weight. he weighed 8lb 8oz at birth and went down to 7lb 4oz at 6 days old. he is slowly regaining his weight though!! he is such a gud baby, we are almost sleeping right through the night!! i am breastfeeding, it is difficult, but sooooo worth it, i love it!! although my partner is feeling really left out!! soon i will start to express so he can feed joe!!

my labour started on the monday night, pains all through the night, i didnt know what to do i had to get on all fours and try to breathe through the pains, this lated untill thursday morning, when my waters finally broke, i was advised to go to the hospital so off we went. i had been low dependancy all throughout my pregnancy, but when we arrived at the hospital, my BP was very high, so i had to be high dependancy, which meant a very clinical room and i was stuck on a bed because baby had to be monitored!!! i also needed a syntocinon drip to encourage more painful contractions!!

after hours of pain and coping well on gas and air, the pain finaly got too much for me, i was screaming for the midwife to stop touching me and begging her not to do another internal!!! i had reached 7cm and everything had to be done twice because there was a student midwife in with us. i was so uncomfortable and acting way out of order!!! i was begging for pethadine, which i got, nearly an hour later!!!!! that just didnt work what so ever!!!! so the midwife was trying to convince me to have and epidural, but i really didnt want one!! but in the end i was convinced, as i couldnt even pass urine, i was sooo desperate for a wee and i just couldnt go!!!

a little while later the anaethatist arrived and gave me my epidural, after 4 attempts he got it...............i could have kissed him, my pain dissapeared!! it was fantastic, soon after, the midwife did another internal and i was 10 cm and she asked me if i would like to start pushing. it was very bizzare, i was pushing, but didnt have the urge!! before i knew it doctors were arriving in the room along with other midwifes. my babys heartbeat had been dropping, so they performed a vontousse but then something else happened and the performed an episiotomy, he was delivered straight onto me and we were overwhelmed that he was ok. i then lost over 500ml of blood. so then the room was full of people mopping the floor and stiching me up and checking out baby!!! it was all very surreal!!! i didnt get my skin to skin contact for a couple of hours and my partner didnt get to cut the cord!! very uncomfortable for a week or two, because i then developed a bad infection, i was on more tablets/injections then a pharmacy could supply!!!

anyway, after 17 hours (and a few days of pains beforehand) of labour we had a beautiful baby boy who is amazing!!!

anyone else breastfeeding?? i am a health professional and i went on a 2 day course (couple of years ago) to help mums breast feed, and i still was unsure of so many things, so much support is needed for breastfeeding mums!!!

hope everyone else is well, take care all mums bumps and babies

luv becky and joe

hey girls

i have the deepest sympathy for all you that are overdue, was 13 days over in the end. And was really pee'd off, had two sweeps, got booked in for induction on thursday had 4 lots of those pills they put inside you to soften the cervix over a few days, my cervix was lovely and soft in the end...but still no sign of it opening!!!! Then on sunday morning after i'd had a couple of negligible pains, they broke my waters and put me on a drip...........after an epidural, lots of gas and air and they had to stop the drip and start again 'cos little jacks heartbeat became irratic, 10 hours later and still only 2-3 cm dilated, they decided on a c-section....thank god!! cos i was about at the end of my tether by then.

Anyway got to go Jacks waking up and is probably starving, as per usual.

Speak soon

Love Sarah & Jack

Congratulations rebecca and I take it mumy2b has had her baby by now???

I know what you went through rebecca as I went through the same but after 17 hrs of hard labour I ended up with a bloody c-section!!

Im not breastfeeding didn't breastfeed with my first either as just find it so easy bottle feeding as quite poorly at the mo as my M.E. has come back after spending 9 fantastic months being symtom free whilst pregnant so feeling very lousy at the mo!!Ruby keeping me up most of the night as well so that really dosen't help!

I had kind of forgoten how hard it was to look after a baby again as my little boy is nearly 5 now so it has been kind of a shock to the system again!

Anyway take care and is there anyone else still checking this thread??what is the new thread that people have joined??

Nicola + Ruby 3 wks today xx

Hi Girls... WOW, well what a journey!!! We are finally home with our "wee dude" Jacob and delighted to be back where we belong... an eventful and exhausting journey ending in emergency section (at city hopital 3 hours away!) after a long labour and some much appreciated help from SCBU to get the wee man going and to ensure he is healthy... so pleased to be in my own home again and with my gorgeous wee boy ... we only got back late this evening so exhausted and emotional but will be back on soon to fill you all in properly...

well after being induced on tuesday septmeber the 4th after 10 days late lol. my baby arrived on friday 7th septmeber after a whole night of mild contractions i finally had a bath at 7am and that brought the contractions stronger and more intense midwife examined me at 10am ish and i was 7cm my hubby arrived at 10.40am after trying to get hold of him he wondered what was going on as i was puffing on the gas and air lol and then they rushed me to labour ward 11.38 am after a few pushes my beatutifull baby girl arrived weighing 8lb 2 0z a lovely and much wanted sister for my son alex. and i did it with just gas and air i was so chuffed. we have named her grace.
