Hi Amanda!
Well, I think I will let myself believe that I can join you on this thread! I did another test this morning & whilst faint, it was stronger than yesterday! So yey!! AF would be due today so I suppose I am exactly 4 weeks.

Congrats to you too Tanya! That's great news. I'm Sarah by the way, I'm 28, this will be my first baby but its my second pregnancy - I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks in September of this year. So I'm hoping things go well this time!

When do you think I should call the doc? I would really like to be able to have an early scan to make sure everything goes ok & what with Christmas in a couple of weeks I think they'd need to book it in sooner rather than later - would it be really silly to call now?

I look forward to talking to you both over the coming months & sharing this exciting journey together! I think I'm due on August 20th.

Love Sarah xxx

morning sarah and WELCOME !!!this is so amazing to have you join me on here after we have been talking on another thread great timing !

it says on the tests that if you test early it may be faint but it is a positive! a false negative can happen but very rarely a false positive so i think it's safe to say your expecting ! well done ! has your hubby believe it now? even after my bfp i wouldn't 100% believe it untill af still didn't show up after a week ! lol!!

sickness is starting to set in now felt quite rough last night with it and again this morning, easing now especially as my tesco order has just been delivered looking forward to my birds eye cooked dinner i'm starving !!! i'm being really carefull as my weight is high enough already !

they normally tell you to not book to see the midwife till 10 weeks. i did that last time and had a scan the next day. because my zak had problems i am unsure now if i need earlier checks but think i will leave it till the ten weeks as i don't want them fussing just cause i lost zak ,after all they never cared when i was carrying him so don't want special treatment this time as the risk is only 1% more that it'll happen again and i need to just relax and enjoy this pregnancy .
i am a big believer in what will be will be and it all happens for a reason so would prefer to leave it to fate but at the same time will have all my appointments and scans as usual.because i am coping so well the doctors think i'm secretly cracking up and won't admit it !but i really am ok don't know how mind ! safe to say i'm not to keen on doctors ! lol!!!

if you are concerned though go and see your doctor before xmas it may put your mind at rest and they will understand ,you have been through so much this year and would most prob give you an early scan to ease your mind you are not being silly just scared ...me too! when i am tired it is worse so i am trying to get plenty of rest to keep my mind strong .

is your hubby more protective of you this time ? mine is ! he never fussed with my four previous pregnancies but this time he's fussing all the time except for last night when i was green he found it quite amusing charming !! men ! lol!!!

hope there will be lots more of us on here soon 1 oh by the way i'm from s.wales .

byeeee off for some dinner yum yum ! luv amanda xx

Hi Amanda!
You are making me hungry stop it! hee hee hee! My lunch break is not till 1pm & I've only had a crumpet today! Off to M&S for lunch though as I need to go into town & get a present from there anyway! No sushi for me though now! Also my planned starter for Xmas Day is now out the window - we were going to have brie filo parcels.... I will have to have soup or something. Not that I mind!

How far along are you now? Sorry to hear you're feeling sick but its for a good reason. Last time, when I was pregnant, I found those sea bands helped a lot - I really noticed the difference if I didnt wear them - they're about £6 in Boots - I suspect next week I'll have to get mine out again! Nice of your DH to laugh at you though - smack him! Do you find you feel more sick when you're hungry? I'm sure this time will be fine for you & your baby! I know its a worry though. I just said to Andy this morning that its not quite as exciting this time as I am so worried - the last time, I thought it will never happen to me when the doc told us about miscarriage.... stupidly niaeve! Seems like I've lost the innocence I had last time of the whole unknown.

I am a larger girl - I eat heathilly though - my portions are just too big sometimes - I love my food & unfortunately I comfort eat sometimes! But I have lost 2 dress sizes this year so quite pleased and am now a 16. Just from going swimming twice a week, I didnt change what I ate apart from didnt allow myself 2 big bars of Galaxy a week!

Have called the docs & have got an appointment with them on Fri next week - hoping I'll be able to get a scan at the begginning of Jan - if only to see the heart's beating. We never got to that stage last time.

My hubby works shifts & he's on lates this week & doesnt get home till 10:45 - I always wait up for him. But last night I was shattered.... fell asleep on the sofa which is so not like me! Anyway, he told me to go to bed when I want tonight & he'll give me a cuddle when he comes to bed. Also, last night I had my parents round for dinner (didnt tell them the news) but when I got home from work he'd prepared everything so all I had to do was bung it in the oven. Very sweet & quite unlike him - so yes - he's looking after me more than last time so far anyway! Nice to know your's is looking after you - you deserve some pampering!

Have got twinges going on in the tops of my legs - bizarre! Guess things are starting to move about in that general region!

Grr this email has taken me ages to write - dont my customers know I'm preggers & excited!

Have a good day - hope the lunch was nice & the sickness goes soon!

Love Sarah xxx

Hi Lisa! Congratulations!! Baby no 4 on the way! I'm sure you'll be fine - no wonder your scared - its a fairly massive thing for anyone to go through - hopefully on this though we can all help each other through.

I'm 4 weeks today & I am 28. Hopefully this will be my first baby - lost my 1st pregnancy at 8 weeks in September so am a bit worried it will happen again. Anyway, hopefully I can get an early scan. Have booked in to the docs next week & by then I'll be 5+1. Very early days for me but I am excited, petrified, shattered & now my boobs have started to hurt!

Hope the docs goes well tomorrow!

Heres to a happy healthy exciting 9 months for us all! x

Hi Amanda,

Just about to tell my Mum! She's coming to meet me for lunch, then I'll tell my Dad later on this afternoon. My sister knows - she's excited & pleased but think like me she's being cautious until we know it seems to be going ok! Glad your family are happy about it!

Work - I work in an office - running & organising events for corporate companies - very good fun. Love the people I work with so I think they'll guess soon enough - they know we're trying & know what happened last time.... & I've been yawning all week which isnt like me! How about you?

Have a nice holiday & a happy Christmas! I'll talk to you soon!
PS - Hope Santa comes - I'm sure you've been a good girl!

xx

13/12/2007 at 12:26
hi sarah , oh i bet your mum will be sooo excited (and worried like mine !).i'm sure all will be fine xx

must be lush to enjoy your job! i'm a full time housewife and underpaid ! lol!! oh reckons it's time for a payrise after xmas !
i would like to return to being a teaching assistant in a few years ,i love teaching kids, just wish i had done it while i was younger and didn't know what i wanted to do .

i think we must have both been very good girls to have our pressies early and to get just what we wanted he he !!!!

speak soon have a lovely day telling your mum and dad your news luv amanda xx
13/12/2007 at 15:28

Aw - mum cried & flung her arms around me. My Dad just said we were like rabbits! He's pleased though - that's just him all over!
Would love to have got into teaching myself too. Problem was when I was leaving school I was painfully shy & couldnt think of anything worse than standing up in front of a class. Funny how you change - I think nothing now of presenting to boards of directors! But I do still enjoy my job (most of the time) so its good. Pay is good & perks are good so I cant complain. Worried about when on maternity leave though & lose over 2/3rds of my salary agggh - we are mortgaged up to our eye balls so that could be interesting. On mission save up now - think we'll have to start eating beans & pasta like we did when we were at uni! I envy you though getting to stay at home with your kids - unfortunately I'm not going to be able to do that because of our mortgage. I loved my mum being there for me when I was younger & wish I could do the same but I know my Mum will look after our baby so thats great! It would be good for you to be able to go & be an assistant though again when your baby is old enough I wreckon you'd be great at it!

I think we're very good girls! & very very lucky girls!

Have a nice day! x
