Still having pregnancy symptoms after a miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage on Tuesday at 6 weeks and 2 days along. I passed the embryo as a full thing and could see a lot of the details on it so I know that's what it was. I've had light bleeding since Monday that has never really gotten heavy. Starting yesterday I've had some brown spotting. I've never had very bad cramps through the whole thing except for a little bit on Monday night. Even though I know I'm not pregnant anymore I still have so many symptoms. It makes it harder because I know it's for nothing. I couldn't possibly have gotten pregnant again because the last time I had sex was a little over a week ago when I was still pregnant. Is it normal to still feel pregnant even after it's gone? I had just started getting pregnancy symptoms week by week (morning sickness, sore and swollen breasts, sensitive smell) on Monday and then Tuesday I lost the baby. I didn't even know I was pregnant until Tuesday morning then a couple hours later it came out of me. I'm in the process of getting my hcg levels tested and will know the results on Thursday. Is it normal to still feel pregnant or should these symptoms go away? I'm almost positive they're not all in my head. This pregnancy was unplanned but I'm still devastated by my loss. Is it possible that it could have been twins and there's still one in there? That seems unlikely since the other one came out. What do you think, is this normal?

At 6 weeks pregnant I had bleeding so I called my GP and he booked for the same day an early pregnancy scan, and I saw the heartbeat everything was fine, you should do the same.

I think is more likely that you still fell pregnant, the hormones take a while to leave the women body, a friend of mine did a oregnancy test 2 weeks after miscarriage and came positive, thinking she was pregnant again but scan showed nothing there, so, go for a scan!

I wish you all the best!

Hi, I'm really sorry, I suppose it's better go to dr, and you'll see that you are not pregnant, it may happen because of hormones, all the best for you!!!

I've just miscarried about 2week's ago, i did a pregnancy test and it came out positive, I'm going to do a second test to be sure..

Could it just be that i still ahve my pregnancy hormones from my last pregnacy or could this be that i'm pregnant?

I'm so sorry for all of your losses, give yourself time to grieve and it will get easier. I had a missed miscarriage at 7 weeks so didn't start bleeding until I was 11 weeks. The embryo came away and I thought that that would be it. I still had all the symptoms from 7 wks - 11 wks and then they still carried on. I went to the early pregnancy unit and they did a scan the sac was still there. It measured 11 wks. I went back the next week and hVe sac was still there measuring 12 wks. This went on for a few more weeks with my belly getting bigger and still having symptoms. Finally at 17 wks I got taken for a D& C to take the sac away as it wasn't going to come away on its own. My body still thought it was pregnant and my hormone levels were still high so the pregnancy tests were coming back positive. It all stopped once I had the D&C but was mentally draining and took a while to get over, I still think of it now like it wa yesterday and it was 4 years ago. We planted a flowering bush in the garden so we had something to grieve over and the bush flowers every year in the month when squished would have been due. I have gone on to have a beautiful daughter who is 3 and have another one on the way. Everything happens for a reason and squished wasn't meant to be. It will take time and your hormone levels should go down but will take a while. If you are worried ring your early pregnancy unit and they will be able to advise you on the best thing to do. Take Care xxx
