hi,

I suffered a miscarriage on christmas eve and had to have a D&C.We were told by the midwife to start trying again as soon as we felt ready and happy to do so.

We started trying a few days after, but have read so many different opinions on falling pregnant before your next period, now i'm left very very confused????

Any advice , help??

hi amoir

firstly, i am so sorry to hear of your loss.

i had a mmc in dec 07 also had a d&c, i personally waited til my first cycle to start again, mainly just to give my body a chance to recover from the D&C, where the lining of your womb is very thin and i wanted to make sure that when i did concieve again it had something to attach too. this is my personal view only.

you can start as soon as u feel ready too, they only say to wait because of dating the pg. and as long the bleeding has stopped. i waited 2 weeks before havin sex again mainly because i was spotting off and on.

i did fall pg in march but it did not attach itself something called a chemical pregnancy, this is very common and alot women do not realise its happened i only knew cause i tested the day my period was due. but i am now almost 18 weeks pregnant and due in june.

i hope this helps

I guess the best thing to do is stop worrying so much!!!(easier said than done hey!!)I'm sure all will happen exactly when and as it's meant to!

Trying to become more positive each and everyday,i get such sad moments, but as you know it's a very hard time to overcome...

amoir, hi sorry to hear what you have been through recently. Hope you have a supportive family around you to help you through what can be a very difficult time.

I had a d&c in Sept 06 and by the end of Nov I was preg again. I had no problems with this preg and now we have a very bubbly 16 month old toddler.

It is good for you to have time to recover both mentally and physically from the miscarriage but you will know when the time is right and you never forget but learn to live with it. I found it hard when I reached 11 weeks as this is the stage I was at when it went wrong the first time but after that it gets much better. You start to feel the baby moving at around 16-20 weeks and that is really reassuring. best fo luck to you szx

hi Amoir,

Yes I know what you mean I felt that the days just went past very slowly after leaving hospital and all I could think about was having a baby. Everywhere I went there were preg ladies!

I only told my parents and Aunt & Uncle so in a way it feels like it was a surreal experience because not many of my family or friends know about it.

Preg is a great experience and the fun starts when you can feel the baby kicking. You will feel nervous but it's just natural. Yeah please let me know what happens!

thinking of you and wishing you all the best szx

Hi Ali,

The world does seem full of preg ladies everywhere!!!Crazy isn't it, you seem to feel the only person who isn't preg!!!

Becoming more positive everyday and as you say looking forward to that feeling of your baby kicking making it all seem real and exciting!!!(well getting preg first!!)

It will happen, just patience!!!(which i'm not at al!!) so glad to have people to chat to who know exactly how you feel and have been through all of this.........

Thanks again for your reply..........happy days!!!

Hi Amoir. I had a blighted ovum and got a d and cl on 29th Jan. The blood stopped immediately so my husband and I started having sex three days after. I am so eager to become pregnant right away. I pray God will succour all us for foul losses and soon we will soon hold our bundle of joy in our arms.p

Hi oladejo,I am so sorry to hear of your loss.i know it is an extremely difficult time for u,but its good to hear you have started to try again.i think it can help to just keep trying as long as you feel we'll and ready to do so.just try and stay as positive and strong as you can,and try make sure thers always someone you can talk to and have support from.i know it's hard believe that miracles do happen, but you'll be holding your bundle of joy in no time, believe me.i now have a beautiful three year old,so after 3 recurrent miscarriages I found it very hard to believe I would be a mother, but please stay strong and positive and I'm sure it won't be long for you too.much love xxxxx
