Newbie and hopeful

Hi just found this site. I had been on the contraceptive injection for 5 yrs came off 2 years ago,My partner and myself had all the tests and ok. Had HCG(tube dye test) all ok,internal ultrasound(not nice) all ok, blood test for progesterone levels very low so look like I'm not ovulating. Just been put on Clomid start next month. Does this sound familier to anyone and have you had a pregmancy whilst taking this drug? Hope there is someone in same situation I can chat to or that has been through this now and has the baby they wanted.

Someone I know had a very similar experience to yourself and when she was put on Clomid she became pregnant VERY quickly! Her daughter is now coming up for 3 years old and although she's loved to bits she has put her mum off EVER having anymore (she was a difficult baby!) Just shows that no matter how much you want a baby they aren't always quite what you imagined!!!!

Hi sara thanks for that will keep trying, start clomid this month. My mate has just got pregnant so would be great,then our kids could grow up our kids togeather.

I have a 6 year old son who was concieved naturally just one month after coming off depro, so naturally reused it as a contraceptive after ryan was born (by c/section)when he was 2 we decided to try for another baby with no success. GP wouldnt refer me as I was only 25 and concieved and carried a healthly baby to term. to cut a long story short we paid private to have it investigated, which we discovered I was probably only ovulating out of one ovary cutting my chances in half to add to that I have an irregular cycle making it almost impossible to estimate my fertile period. I was prescribed clomid and everything went like clockwork on first treatment normal cycle blood test was taken to see if I ovulated had all the scans ething looked really positive and I am still convinced i got pregnant as had all the symptoms but three days late it came, my period, I was devastated. After that it all went down hill no cycle was regular no ovulation tests pos I couldnt understand it. Then on the last month of 6 i wasnt going to bother I was sick of being disapointed, suddenly i thought it says to take on between day 2-5 of your cycle, the fertility clinic told me it didnt matter take it on day 1. I calculated it today was day 5 my last chance "might as well I thought" Baby ude was born on 30 jan 2006 in belfast maternity hospital, maybe because my cycles were so long i had a better chance starting later in cycle. I don't know just a wee story to say keep ur chin up i got the shock of my life when I was pos even took 15 preg tests to be sure still have them all to show to jude when he's older....ha ha good luck let me know how it goes.

i'm ttc (supposedly) but way too tired to actually do anything. my daughter is 8months old and very much a live wire so by the time she's in bed i also just want to sleep. shame as i'd love another one soon so they can grow up together.

Just to let you all know i am now 4/5 weeks pregnant and over the moon, i cant believe it, i saw the specialist last month and she was only going to give me clomid for another 2 months and then we would have to look into ivf so i was on a real downer! the only symptoms i am getting is missed period,horrendously sore boobs! and abdo cramping, dont know why that is,it was unberable but nowmuch better. i am due to go on holiday to prague with my mate beg nov that would make me 7 weeks, only an hour flight, do you think this is ok?

Congratulations!
The early weeks of pregnancy do have the highest instance of miscarriage but, unless you have other health conditions that make this a concern, you should be fine.
As you say, the flight isn't a long one.
However, given that you have worked so hard to get to this point, I would certainly run it ppast your GP so you feel more confident about the trip.

cheers for that i phoned my gp and he said no probs (will be 7 weeks)and only 1hour flight and prague is soo lovely it will relax me,my insurance company have also said no prob so i will take it easy till then. my suitcase is on wheels and my mate can lift it off the conveyor belt for me!

well went to prague and all ok . I only had the pains between weeks 4-6 im now in week 8 and no pain so very pleased.I still cant believe im pregnant,i never thought it would ever happen i am sooo happy, my dr keeps joking and saying he thinks ill have twins!! i just want my first scan!

Now 10 weeks and the cramping only lasted between weeks4-6. doing it on day 11 or 16 was the date for me. Im pain free but soooo tired all the time and sore sore boobs its unreal<i have missed out on sickness so pretty lucky there.

hello, i came off the contraceptive injection november 2006, so it has almost been 5 months and i desperately want to get pregnant, the last time i had a period was january, my gp says this is normal when coming off the injection. im only 25 so my gp doesnt take me seriously when i say i want something to increase my fertility.is anyone else going through this? help!!!
