Little Summer surprised her parents with her toothy grin
Newborn Summer Whelan astonished her parents minutes after she was born with a smile that showed off her fully formed teeth.
Mum Karen, 31, and dad Andy, 35, couldn’t believe their eyes as they saw two pearly white incisors sitting in her lower gums.
Teething usually occurs in little ones between six months and a year, but little Summer who is less than a month old, is already booked in to see the dentist.
Her amazing toothy grin is a family trait as her grandmother, 76-year-old Shirley Burnit, was also born with two front teeth.
Mum Karen said: “It was really funny, when I went into labour Andy was telling me and my mam about how his mam was born with two front teeth.
We were just laughing at him, but as soon as Summer was born, she was crying and I was shouting: “She’s got two front teeth.”
Family and friends have been flocking round to see Summer’s cheeky smile and have even bought her the one thing she truly needs – a tiny toothbrush.
Brushing their baby’s teeth will now be top priority for the proud couple who welcomed the newest addition to the family at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary on July 20th.
Only last year mum-of-four Martha Muthoni shocked residents of Nyandarua County, Kenya, after giving birth to a healthy baby boy with 28 teeth.
While recently in the UK two childhood friends had a surprise when they gave birth to their sons on each other’s birthdays.
Here at TB HQ we think the camera will love little Summer’s super smile.
