Mothercare Bedside Cot
Posted: 07/06/09

'The benefits of co-sleeping with the safety of baby in a cot'
Strengths:
No barrier between you and baby, versatile, looks nice, safe.
Weaknesses:
The drop side is a bit fiddly!

Overall:
This is without a doubt the single best item we purchased. I could sleep soundly with my son by my side without the worry of me rolling onto him or him wriggling under the duvet. When he woke in the night all I had to do was reach out to stroke him and he'd settle - no need to get out of bed, meant I got way more sleep. When it came to feeding all I had to do was bring him to my breast and when he fell asleep I hardly had to move him. He's still at our bedside at 1 year old though now we have the cot-side up as he's on the move, but as his mattress is at the same hight as ours we still feel like we're co-sleeping. If you want to have a relaxed bedtime mums then buy this cot!

Stokke Tripp Trapp

'GREAT FOR FAMILY DINING'
Strengths:
Good looking, heard wearing, easy to clean, safe and comfortable.
Weaknesses:
Not cheap and does not fold away, but why would you want to put it away?
Overall:
Right from the first time our son sat in it he was safe and comfortable - don't bother buying the cushions, they're not required! He loved eating with us and we enjoyed our family meals. It looks great in our kitchen and our dinning room and fits at both tables - I know it's pricey but our friends 6 year old son still sits at the table in his! Now that's value for money!

Philips AVENT Digital Audio Monitor
Posted: 25/10/08
'EASY ON THE EYE AND SIMPLE TO USE, THREE-IN-ONE GREAT VALUE.'
Strengths:
In-built thermometer and night light gives you three-in-one value. Good reception even in our house with very thick walls!
Weaknesses:
The travel cary case is useless - but then I didn't buy the Avent branded version; mine is the yellow Philips Baby Care SCD489 - Deluxe DECT Baby Monitor
Overall:
It looks good in my bedroom, tells me the temperature in there, has a gentle night-light so I can see my baby and gives me the peace of mind to leave him to sleep whilst my hubby and I get dinner. What more can you want of a baby monitor?!? It does the job and a little bit more.
