| | When I found out I was going to be a grandparent I turned into a shop-aholic at least where baby clothes were concerned. As two of my own children were born four and five weeks early I thought there was a greater likelihood that my grandchild would also be born prematurely.
After much window-shopping I soon realised that there was a distinct lack of premature clothes, so I contacted one of our local special baby care units and discussed their requirements in premature clothing. After a great deal of trial and error I finally had four finished designs, which I took over to the Ormskirk Special Care Baby Unit. One of these designs was considered suitable for use within the unit, this design can now be found in our Special Care section.
I turned from a shop-aholic into entrepreneur and looked for ways to personalise the gifts for my new grandson and friends there by adding meaning and emotion to the whole occasion.
I began by personalising hats, babygro’s and blankets with my grandsons name and with the names of friend’s babies. I was blown away by the response. Tears of plenty as the recipients explained how touched they were with the gifts and how original it was that their little ones were proudly sporting attire beautifully embroidered with their names, date of birth and their weight at birth. Thus from these basic ideas Prem2Pram was born.
I plan to offer a range of personalised items for the parents and family of premature and low birth weight babies right up to the age of three years. As well as offering items of clothing for expectant mothers that appreciate keeping their sense of humour throughout their pregnancy. | | | Status: | | | Message me |
