Hi Sarah, What have you tried weaning Emi on? Maybe as she likes her milk you could mash up a rusk with her milk. Just to get her used to a new texture. I think she needs to be weaned now though. I read that the iron stores babies are born with depleat by the time they are 6 months. Just remember when it comes to sitting etc all babies are different, they all develop at different rates so don't stress yourself. Thomas is very advanced for his age and to be honest its tiring. He's not the sort of baby I can leave in a room while I get lunch etc, he's on the move all the time and only happy when he is sitting up. Thomas has been off his food so much, he's only been taking 4oz in the morning and 4oz at night. He won't take water either but has just started sipping his juice- but not with the lid on. I have to hold the cup to his mouth and he slurps it up. At least he is getting some fluids though. It will be interesting to see what effect this has all had on his weight. Laura x |

Hi everyone, I havent been on here for ages. Thomas started sitting up a few weeks ago and now has 2 teeth. His bottom middle two. Its been a bit of a nightmare this past week though as his mouth has been producing so much saliva cos of his teeth and he cant bring it up. That twinned with broncilitus we have been to the Drs 3 times. Aside from all that he is doing great. Fully weaned now, he's only on 2 bottles a day one 1st thing around 7am and one at 7:30 before bedtime. I think he's quite advanced for his age as he is not even 24 weeks yet. And he is growing so fast I cant keep up. Hope everyones little ones are doing well. Great weight loss Sarah. Karen trust your instict when it comes to weaning. Thomas was gulping down his puree so I now add some pasta stars or rice (baby rice but not the breakfast kind, proper rice). Or if you think she is ready maybe mash the food instead to add some texture. You could also cut up some spagetti into small pieces, whatever you think. Well just a quick one, I've tried to skim over people posts. Hope to be on more often. Laura x |

Well Thomas was having 40oz a day before. Now he has 8oz at 6:30am, then fruity breakfast at 9, 8oz at 1, veg puree and fromage frais at 5, 6oz at 7:30 before bed then another 6oz at 11-11:30 when i go up. So hes having 28oz now. HV said that was fine. But suggested doing half strength milk at 11pm feed to wean him off having it at all so gonna try that out tonight. She said do that for a couple of weeks then introduce lunch and drop the night feed altogether. Then he will be having 22oz a day which is fine. I read they need 20oz till they are 1. Linz that comando crawl is well funny. Never heard it called that before. We put Thomas on his belly every now and then. He seems to like it. You are right about baby juice, I water that down and end up throwing it away. It only lasts 48 hrs. Gonna leave off on juice for a month or so. Hope everyones ok. Laura |

Hi everyone, I haven't a clue what sterilising bags are either linz. Well Thomas is doing really well on food. He's had either rice or fruity breakfast everyday for the last week so today we added an evening meal too. He had carrot and sweetcorn followed by a couple of spoons of apple and pear puree. He loved the carrot but not keen on the apple and pear. We have managed to drop one of his bottles, but he doesn't seem to like juice or water. What does everyone else give their little ones to drink? Well I'm going up to my parents later in the week as me and my sis are going to see the script. My mum is going to look after Thomas for the evening. I haven't left him for that long with anyone before, so god knows how I will be. Well I should go. I'm so tired. I hope everyone is doing a bit better- car accidents, men etc. Luv Laura |
