Thanks for the response, Claire. I actually ended up taking her to a Moroccan restaurant, as you're right - she couldn't eat sushi.

I want to take my wife out for dinner for her birthday, and her fave food is sushi. However, she's 5 months pregnant.

Is it safe to eat sushi in pregnancy?

Thank you very much for your advice - I have a multi vitamin that, as you say, has some folic acid in it anyway so I will now take only that. Just to let everyone else know, I also asked my midwife who confirmed your advice.

We are having our third baby in May next year, and I have been taking folic acid for the fist three months. I can't remember whether it is recommended that you take it throughout the pregnancy or just for the first three months?
