Hi

I live in stevenage and looking at nursery or childcare for my son next year in Feb as wondering how much it costs five days a week, wether its worth it to go back to work, as much as I don't want to, my husband seems to put pressure on that I should.

I got quotes from two nurseries and it is between £800 and £900 per month. That costs so much.  Are there nurseries out there that are cheaper?  What should I look at rather doing?

Help

Emma

Hi

My son is five months old on Monday coming up. And I am wondering when do I start weaning him?  Do I have to take into account that he was born four weeks early? As some doctors look at him as 4 months old development wise and not five months in actual age?  Does that affect when I start weaning hiim? Should I wait another month till he is seven months?

He is drinking 7oz of formula milk (four to five bottles a day) and seems to be doing so well. He can hold his head up very well and rolls all over the floor. He is so active and weighs around 13lb 5oz.  It is a little below what he should weigh.

And then when you start weaning, what is the best thing to start them on? Heard Baby rice? Or porridge?

Thanks

Emma

Hi

My son Ryan was born four weeks early and within 5 weeks old he started Colic.  And he still has it now (11 weeks old on Monday).  But its not too bad at the moment, since I started carrying him around in a sling, when I go out and about, I use the sling instead of the pram... as the closeness does help.

So any desperate mum's out there... give the sling a go.  Its quite amazing the difference. I have some nights when he does sleep and does not cry at all.  So depends.... But always asleep by 9 pm... and awake from about 6 am... so its good.

That sounds good... which sites do you go on?

I just want to enter competitions to get some great stuff for my baby.... as some things are just so expensive to buy and wish I could treat him more.
