Here are a few of our favourite things this Christmas:

Blossom Farm Sit Me Up Cosy
Suitable from birth until about 12 months, this big round cuddy cushion can 'grow' with your child. At first it's a soothing, soft place to lay, but it becomes a useful propping cushion where your baby can reach out to feel different textures, be stimulated by pretty colours, without falling back and bumping his head on the floor. This has been a popular seller for a couple of years, but make sure you do not use it as a cot or sleeping place for your baby. £30.

Light and Sound Buggy Driver
Suitable from about three months to two years, the the Buggy Driver is a durable plastic 'dashboard' which little hands to bash away at and older infants can 'steer' as they mosey along the pavement in their pushchair. There are lots of things to click and push and make sounds with, as well as the fun or having a go at being the driving seat! The gears, indicators, horn and steering wheel make this a fabulously designed imaginative play toy you can take out with you. Simply attach it across the front of your pushchair. £20.

Wooden Toddle Truck
A first 'truck' of shapes for building is a timeless classic. This one is suitable for one- to two-year-olds and is elegant in its simple wooden design. Useful for babies as they make their first steps after cruising. £20.

Whizz Around Garage
What's lovely about this garage is that it's can be played with by babies as young as one year old. Many such garages, farms and doll's houses have small fiddly components that rule them out for any child under three. This chunk garage is easy for one- to three-year-olds to play with and includes an exciting spiral descent and ramps, three cars and six sounds. It will help develop manual dexterity and and is, importantly, great fun! £37.50.
