Although you might feel guilty about creating endless landfill sites with disposable nappies, there are times when even the most staunch reusable nappy user is on the go and in need of a disposable nappy.

A good compromise could be to find a 'greener' alternative, like the biodegradable nappies from Nature Boy and Girl.

These work just the same as regular disposable nappies, it's just that their outer lining is made from natural fibres which break down as refuse in about four years. OK, that sounds like a long time, but your average disposable nappy's plastic layers take hundreds of years! They also contain less chemicals than usual nappies whilst still absorbing efficiently.

Their price is on a par with regular disposables and their age ranges are about the same (from newborn sizes to 'Junior' - about 24-55lbs). You can also buy Nature wipes and their nappy sacks are made from corn startch so again, they are 'compostable'.

Most supermarkets now stock Nature Boy and Girl ranges but to find out more about their products you can check out the Nature Boy and Girl website.
