For most parents-to-be finding out the sex of your baby can be an exciting time and one which doesn't normally occur until around midway through your pregnancy. For those of you who just can't wait DNA Worldwide have released a kit, priced at £189, which allows you to determine the sex of your unborn baby at just six weeks into your term.
The early results are obtained by using a finger-prick of blood and it is claimed that the predictions are 99% accurate with a refund offered otherwise.
The test seeks out DNA from the baby in the mother's blood and if a Y-chromosome is picked up then a baby boy can be 'confidently' predicted. Equally, if no Y-chromosome is detected then this would result in a baby girl being predicted.
The test has been hailed as controversial amongst fears that mothers will choose to abort their unborn babies if they are dissatisfied with the results.
