With the arrival of changeable buggy covers when Bugaboo came along, suddenly it was possible to buy one buggy and live with another. OK, so you wouldn't change it every day, but the flexibility of different covers had appeal to girly mums and boysy dads who just couldn't agree on bright pink or sporty green.
Now Maclaren have taken that a step further. With the basic chassis of their Ryder pushchair - a from-birth buggy with a lightweight basic weight of 6.7kg - and added four different looks to last you the whole year round in the 4 Seasons Buggy which will hit the shops in September.
What you get with any Ryder
The Ryder has four recline positions, front and rear suspension which goes above and beyond what you usually find in a lightweight buggy, one-hand folding action, faux-fur lined footmuff, a reversible crimson ultrasuede/charcoal fleece, a rain cover and buggy carrybag.
What you get with the 4 Seasons option
In addition to this, the 4 Seasons option comes as:
A tan buggy with a silver frame and grey hub caps, foam handles, a footrest and a carry handle.
The liners for three seasons include:
Spring A butterfly-print, and quilted sky blue fabric with tan binding detail
Summer A crisp navy and white butcher-stripe, and a quilted navy dobby, with crimson binding detail
Autumn A rich charcoal autumn leaf pattern, and a quilted crimson fabric, with a tan binding detail.
For Winter, the addition over these linings is the winter footmuff with a tan/coffee brown dobby fabric and lined with an ultra-soft white faux-fur.
The 4 Seasons Buggy has an RRP of £225. For more information, visit www.maclarenbaby.com.
