There are many well designed, super-safe car seats on the market but the whizz-bang Aprica Euro-Turn is the poshest one we've seen yet.
At a recommended retail price of £460, it's certainly not cheap, but for that you get a seat which allows your baby to sit upright or lay down flat. There is a belief that very young babies benefit from not sitting upright for extended periods of time so long journeys could be drastically improved by this.

Looking like a Georgia O'Keefe flower, the linings and layers inside the seat enable you to change its size as your child grows, so it's suitable from birth to 4 years. It can be set as a front- or rear-facing seat as well as completely flat and has a swivel base to make changing positions easy.
It looks like a gadget from Star Wars and the version with an added Thermo Ventilation System is a snip at £660!
