Review: Inglesina Otutto travel system

Inglesina Otutto

A good-looking versatile travel system with an umbrella-fold chassis
Not the lightest around, and Italian style comes at a price
Features: Oozing Latin style, this travel system offers plenty of options: carrycot, front- or rear-facing seat, plus car seat, all fitting to the one easy-action chassis (available in graphite grey or white).
Price: Combo £499; Pram £699 (includes carrycot). Both include Huggy group 0+ car seat and base
Weight: Chassis 7.4kg; Carrycot 5.2kg; Seat unit 3.7kg
Folded: 106 x 37cm
Colours: Fire; Sugar (Teal); Optical Grey, Dream Denim
Accessories: Basket, hood, raincover, footmuff; Pram also includes co-ordinating changing bag
Contact: www.inglesina.com

The concept:
Classic good looks, a luxurious feel and lots of practical features make for a clever travel system, all building from the streamlined chassis. Suitable from birth to three years, your baby can lay flat, facing you, or sit upright and take in the view. Unusually for an umbrella-fold, the seat can face front or rear.

Benefits:
The deep carrycot will cocoon your baby, and this has multiple recline positions and a ventilated base to prevent overheating. Add this to the front- or rear-facing seat and you have plenty of options.
The white chassis will certainly make you stand out from the crowd, while graphite grey offers a more understated style. A joy to steer, and easy to hide in the boot.

Drawbacks:
Drawbacks: Slightly snug seat for larger toddlers. Not the cheapest around.

The ThinkBaby verdict

Head-turning Italian style, with strong design values - at a price
Portability/storage: 4/5
Usability: 4/5
Comfort: 4/5
Quality: 4/5
Value: 3/5
