Making a difference
Marlene Sandberg was one of these women that made things happen. While reading about waste associated with disposable nappies Marlene felt guilty about products she was using for her son Edward. She commenced a search for a safer nappy to use and was unsuccessful in her search.
On finding out more, Marlene realised the situation was becoming a major problem the world over. She then decided to look into the industry, what was available and investigate the possibility of making her own biodegradable disposable nappy. Experiments began, and Marlene sold her shares in her law firm to fund her dream. It was a risk and 5 years of hard work before Marlene had designed a biodegradable disposable nappy that was ready to be sold in her home country Sweden.
