Jané Powertwin Pro 3-wheeler Tandem

Flexible and easy to adapt with a new baby and a toddler
Not much to fault, though the weight is 14.8kg
Features: Front seat has two recline positions, back seat has four (and is higher up than on many tandem models), easy to fold and locks once down. Price includes an air pump, raincover for each seat, basket, and fittings for the Rebel Pro infant carrier (sold separately).
Price: RRP £399 (though you can find it online for £349)
Weight: 14.8kg
Handle: 103cm high but can be adjusted to four height settings
Dimensions: Folded: L87x W46x H35cm

Jane Powertwin Pro 3-wheeler

The concept:
Many double pushchairs have a from-birth seat included because you are most likely buying one for a new baby and your toddler. The baby usually sits in the back seat because it is easier to allow the older child to ride in front, looking out. However, in many models, the back seat can feel very enclosed and often too close to the ground. (Especially is splashy rainy weather.)
With the Jané Powertwin, the back seat is higher up so a small child can still feel part of the ride rather than part of the shopping basket!
The Powertwin easily accomodates two car seats (the Rebel Pro Infant Carrier) if you need both seats to be adapted for baby twins.

In action:
The air tyres and good suspension make this a pleasant ride for your babies and a comfortable handle for you. Additionally, because it is a tandem style, it has one handle across the back of the buggy rather than two handles spread apart. This makes it easier to use when you need one hand to open doors etc.
We like the easy comfort of both the seats with this model - neither feels like second-best - and the car seat option on one or both does not make the buggy unstable or clumsy to handle.

Being able to brake with front and back wheels is useful, especially given that the whole buggy is 14.8kg before you even put a pair of little tykes in it. The front wheel has 360-degree swivel and the telescopic folding mechanism has a double safety lock.

Accessories include the 'Luxury Next Plus' (footmuff), a matching changing bag, and parasol.
The Powertwin is available in three colours: Rojo (red), Plata (grey), and Azulon (blue).

The ThinkBaby verdict

A solid, stylish double buggy where your baby isn't plonked in as an afterthought.
Performance: 4/5
Value: 3/5
