Panorama exposes unlicensed IVF clinic

HFEA called in to investigate the treatment patients have received at the Assisted Reproductive and Gynaecology Centre (ARGC).

Last night BBC One aired IVF Undecover, a documentary which was filmed undercover at the Assisted Reproductive and Gynaecology Centre (ARGC). It is run by Britain's most successful IVF doctor Mohamed Taranissi who has produced 2,300 babies in seven years.
The staff at the ARGC were filmed offering a 26 year-old journalist 'unecessary and unproven' treatment despite she and her husband having no history of fertility problems.
Mr Taranissi is also accused of continuing to operate the Reproductive Genetics Institute after its licence was not renewed at the end of 2005.
