Nearly half of all fathers would prefer to stay-at-home and look after their children, research reveals
Nearly half of dads want to stay at home and look after the children
In Britain, 49% of dads would love to give up their full time jobs and spend their time being a stay-at-home dad, according to a recent survey by MyVoucherCodes. Echoing a recent news report that stay at home dads are on the rise, nearly half of the 1,311 dads with children aged 0-5 years, are willing to pack in their careers and care for their children at home.
Less than one in 10 of the dads polled believed that the stay-at-home role belonged to the mum, with 84% thinking that the job was for both parents. A further 18% admitted that they’d like to stay at home so that their partner could return to work.
Interestingly, 79% of men who expressed the desire to be stay-at-home dads believed that it would be easier to handle than their current job.
