Karen and Darren are overjoyed to be expecting their second baby
Former Apprentice star Karen Bremner has revealed she’s pregnant with her second child after she was told she was infertile, reports the Daily Record.
Karen, mum to 8-year-old Cameron, had abandoned all hope of having a second baby after doctors told her she had unexplained infertility. So Karen and her husband Darren, who’s serving with the RAF in Afghanistan, were “over the moon” to find out they are expecting.
“I’m 18 weeks pregnant and it’s only beginning to sink in,” said Karen.
“We had been through all the tests only to be told that we had unexplained infertility,” she explained.
“After turning 40, I decided it was time to admit defeat and we agreed when Darren returned from Afghanistan, we would get rid of all the baby things we had been holding on to,” she said.
“I was gobsmacked to discover I was pregnant,” said Karen.
“I wanted to tell Darren immediately but when he is away, I have to wait for him to call me.”
“He didn’t and eventually I gave in and emailed him. He was as surprised as I was,” she said.
“He will miss all the scans but he is due back next month and will be here for the birth. We are over the moon.”
The former businesswoman believes that her change of lifestyle may be responsible for how she fell pregnant.
“I have not had a job and I think my body decided to have a baby because I haven’t been as stressed.”
