Sit back and relax while your maternity concierge does everything for you
A new maternity trend may be on its way from the US, where women looking to maintain their fabulous jet-set lifestyles during pregnancy will pay a small fortune for the services of a “maternity concierge”.
Much like a wedding planner, your concierge allows you to enjoy all the fun without being bogged down by pesky details of having a baby, such as naming it!
New York based maternity concierge Rosie Pope, who lived in London until she was 18, charges £315 an hour for her services, according to the Daily Mail. These range from the luxurious to the bizarre...
From thinking up baby names to designing couture delivery room gowns, 32-year-old Rosie does it all. And she does it all in front of the camera for new reality TV series Pregnant in Heels.
In one episode, Rosie is asked to name a couple’s son to boost his chances of becoming a top politician. (Maybe one of these would be good?)
“I’ve never been asked to brand a baby before,” Rosie says.
In a bid to find the perfect political name, Rosie enlists the help of a poet, a linguist and a social media expert.
But naming a baby’s nothing compared to some of Rosie’s requests.
One of her more spiritual clients on the show has a very specific birthing technique in mind.
“This one woman wants to give birth hugging a tree!” Rosie explains.
“I try to be the voice of reason,” she says. “‘At the end of this pregnancy,’ I ask, ‘you realise there’s going to be a baby here, right? This can’t be all about you.’”
Well now we’ve heard it all…
