Bugaboo has announced that one of its buggies, the Bugaboo Bee, has brake problems. It’s offering parents free bracket sets to fix the issue.
On the
Bugaboo website, the buggy maker said it became aware of the problem in March 2009. However, thousand of parents who bought the Bugaboo Bee before the problem was corrected weren’t told or alerted through the usual product safety warnings, according to an article the
Telegraph.
Bugaboo has posted an
“important notice for bugaboo bee owners” on its website. The notice says, “In March 2009 we found out that there had been some cases that the Bugaboo Bee brake has not worked properly after a period of time in use. For this reason, we have taken precautionary measures and developed a set of brackets that can be easily clicked onto the rear wheels of the pushchair in order to secure the brake function. The brackets are now integrated into the Bugaboo Bee during production.”
The Bugaboo Bee has been produced with the brackets from around May this year. If you own a Bee that was made before this, you can get a free bracket set by heading back to the retailer you purchased the buggy from, or by
filling out a form on the Bugaboo site.
