To mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the first Selfridges department store, top designers are rolling out special edition products available for a limited time at the world-famous store. These include a limited edition Bugaboo Bee pushchair.

Bugaboo's Bee at Selfridges
When Gordon Selfridge first opened his department store in Oxford Street in 1909, it saw a major revolution in shopping in the UK. Not only did a department store allow shoppers to browse and get close to products for the first time, with all manner of different kinds of shop under one roof, but interestingly, it was also the first time ladies visiting town for the day could 'refesh' themselves without having to go all the way home! Until then, the idea of the public lavatory was pretty much limited to the rough and ready urinal for men or the retreat of the gentlemen's club!

Whilst the store has been an icon in shopping for a century, it's really only in the last decade, with the opening of amazing new stores aroud the country and the development of its designer stock, that Selfridges has earned a new reputation for cutting edge design.

To mark its centenary, other design names like Marc Jacobs, Paul Smith and Converse have offered special items for limited sale, alongside Bugaboo – to many parents, the ultimate in pushchair cool!
There will be just 50 of the special Bugaboo Bee models available – commissioned in a denim fabric with an inside trim printed in Selfridge's signature Pantone 109 yellow. For more, go to www.selfridges.com.

The Paul Frank Bugaboo Cameleon on sale now
Can't get to a Selfridges but fancy a bit of Bugaboo style? Bugaboo have also just launched their Cameleon with a specially commissioned Paul Frank-designed fabric. The Paul Frank style - the loveable monkey and vibrant colours – is a wonderful match for the Cameleon's funky curves.
The distinctive Paul Frank characters Skurvy, Clancy and Julius all feature, across a range of two linings, four different footmuffs and two different blankets.
