City Elite Aqua Carrycot It can be a minefield deciding what pushchair suits you and your baby best, but with some models on the market, you can invest in something flexible that can be added to, creating a full-on travel system, or kept simple as a solid reliable pushchair or pram (the pushchair chassis with a carrycot).

Hurrah, then, for the Firstwheels City Elite which offers the flexibility of these options in a stylish and solidly built model that doesn't break the bank.

The Firstwheels City Elite

If you're looking for a model that suits your new baby, then buying the Firstwheels City Elite complete with the carrycot turns the pushchair into a pram. Go further and buy the car seat adaptor and the whole model becomes a travel system which you can click your baby's car seat in and out of for convenience. The aluminium frame means that even when the extras are added, it's still an easy to manoeuvre option. In addition, the capable 12-inch wheels at the rear mean it always feels stable and secure while the smaller, lockable swivelling front wheels allow you to navigate shops, pavements and small spaces. For your baby, the pneumatic tyres allow a smoother ride, and once she is old enough to sit up, the reclining seat of the pushchair mode will allow you to position your child to sit facing you or facing the direction of travel.

Discuss this story

I have bought the FirstWheels City Elite in January 2007 as a travel system with a Maxi Cosy car seat and was very pleased with it. The carrycot was comfortable and ideal for my newborn and I like the fact that the seat is reversable so my baby can face me. It is a very neat system to fold down, fitted in my Fiat Punto and the Maxi Cosy care seat is easily fitted onto the pram chasis with its adapters.

All in all I can highly recommend the FirstWheels City Elite and think it looks good, is very similar to the Bugaboo but does not come with the huge price tag and is easy to steer and fold down. Good value for money!
