What's new in the world of baby products this week

Baby Channel shopping
Not content with dedicated programming for parents and children, new kid on the block Baby Channel is adding teleshopping and online shopping to its portfolio.

From the beginning of next year the channel will have three hours of QVC-style TV shopping for baby-related products. A TV interface will allow viewers to buy featured products from the store through their TV, or they can go to the Baby Channel's website and buy online.

It's a move that not everyone will welcome, but it's a logical step by the channel. More interesting is Baby Channel's link up with existing online retailer to fulfil the retail side of the equation. twoleftfeet will be responsible for fulfilling all Baby Channel orders, whether placed through interactive TV or online.

Sleep tight

Baby wrap company Cosy Cocoon has introduced a new range of handmade cocoons this winter. The Cosy Cocoons are effectively pre-swaddled, they're designed to produce a swaddling effect to help babies sleep better, but without the need for learning swaddling techniques, or for buttons, ties or velcro. The inner layer of the cocoon is a baby sleeping bag while the outer is a swaddling blanket that allows you to tuck in baby's arms to prevent jerky reflex movements from resulting in a restless baby.

The adorable-looking cocoon is available in two different warmths for different climates, is fully wash- and tumble-dry-able and comes in a wide range of colours. Regular price is £19.99 but there's also an organic cotton version for £22.99. See their website for more details and for retailers.

Mamas & Papas December sale

Mamas & Papas are heralding the New Year with a sale in their 25 regional stores. Starting 19th December there'll be up to 50% off selected Mamas & Papas ranges including pushchairs like the A3 Sportivo, the Poppy and Mustard interiors collection, baby clothing and maternity wear. Smaller savings are to be had elsewhere in store, with up to 10% off nursery furniture.

There's a useful widget to find your nearest Mamas & Papas store on their website here. And if you don't want to be bothered with browsing for bargains at the store then call 0870 830 7700 for the low down on all available offers.
