High Clarity Digital Monitor
A baby monitor offers great reassurance that your little one is sleeping soundly without you having to check on her constantly – and these monitors have come a long way from the days when you might accidentally tune in to your neighbour’s baby crying.

Advanced safety monitor technology
The new Safety 1st High Clarity Digital Monitor represents another step forward into the modern era: cutting edge technology brings a crystal clear sharp sound and the digitally enhanced cordless technology means zero interference and a secure and private connection at all times.

Other features include a range of 480 metres, a pager button so you can locate a misplaced parent unit, a unit indicator to assure you that both units have a good connection, a low battery indicator and an adjustable sound sensitivity function, so you can pick up even the quietest of sounds. Added to all that technology, it’s compact and slimline, with a gadgety feel that dads will love, and it’s easy to use so you won’t be baffled by it, no matter how sleep-deprived you are. It costs just £48.94.

If simply listening in on your baby isn’t enough for you, Safety 1st also has a recently launched High Clarity Colour Digital Video Monitor. Here, digital technology is put to good use, enabling the child’s camera unit and parent’s viewing unit to ‘pair’ with each other, cutting out interference from microwaves, wireless networks and other people’s monitors.

The monitor’s parent unit looks and feels like a mobile phone, with a crystal-clear image of your baby displayed on its screen. The controls enable you to zoom in, pan-around the room and even see your baby when it’s dark, using infra-red technology. This can be mains or battery-operated, and has a range of 190m – an indicator will tell you if you’re reaching the limits of this or if the battery’s low, so you can rest assured at all times.

All this technology comes at a price of £156.60.

Discuss this story

Does anyone think it's necessary to have a video monitor? Hasn't everyone done ok without them so far? Surely an audio one is enough? I'm not sure whether it would be worth adding to the list of things to get!
