There are now quite a few interiors companies doing funky furnishings for children’s rooms, but we love this company, newly launched here in the UK.
The Danish company ILVA have been going since 1974, but only last year did they cross the water and take on the likes of IKEA on home turf, in Sweden. Now they have opened a store in Manchester and one in Thurrock, and are opening one in the north east, in Gateshead, soon.
They are not quite so cheap and cheerful as IKEA, but instead go for quality and style, and still have some great bargains. Their children’s range includes the elegant child’s Clara bed with handy drawers, for £350, and the wonderful Scot cot for £180.
However, if you’re looking for swish style at a cheap price tag and just want to spruce up your child’s room, their children’s lamps at £10, and the pint noticeboard at £13 are great. They also have some lively prints for bedding, and their children’s cutlery is classy but brilliantly priced (£2 for a knife, £1 spoon, £1 fork).
