New parents might think that lugging their baby and infant carrier in and out of the car each time they reach a destination is a bit of a haul, but that’s nothing compared with the next stage car seat and its dreaded five-point harness. Indeed, although car seat know-how is important for any road-using parent to understand even before the birth, the reality of actually getting the seat securely fastened round your child day in day out gets a little ignored alongside issues of size, EU safety standards etc, etc.

And in time, most parents find a way to get half their own body inside the backseat with their baby in order to get the darned thing safely done up, especially on days when their beloved baby is showing early signs of being a troublesome toddler…
Hurrah, then, for the new Bébé Confort Axiss!

Bébé Confort’s new rotating seat
The Bébé Confort Axiss is a Group 1 car seat suitable after your baby is too big for its first infant carrier. That is, it’s suitable for children weighing 9 to 18 kgs, which is about nine months to four years of age, though the weight is a safer indicator of suitability than age.

It is the first fully-tested rotating car seat in its field, which turns 90 degrees on its base, so that a child can be lifted in and secured at right angles to the normal direction of travel, facing a parent who is standing on the pavement. The setting can turn either to the right or left, so it can be used with either rear door of a car, and then can be locked into its correct forward-facing position with a clearly visible green safety indicator so that is can’t rotate during travel. For mums who have sore backs from feeding, lifting and the like, it’ll be a true godsend.

The Axiss can be used in a car seat with a normal three-point seat belt which can be threaded through the chair using colour-coded guides so that you know you’ve fitted it correctly.
The Bébé Confort Axiss conforms to European safety standards R44.04 and has many of the usual safety features you’d expect in any Bébé Confort car seat: side protection, reinforcement for head protection and egonomically designed adaptability so that it’s a secure and comfortable ride for its youngest users and its oldest.

The Bébé Confort Axiss has an RRP of £199. For more information, visit www.bebeconfort.com.
