We bang on enough on this site about reuseable nappies, but what about reuseable clothes?
OK, we know the value of hand-me-downs - not just because they recycle and they save money, but also because you can mix and match old and new without your child looking identical to every other infant who has a mum who shops where you do! But now, designer Nicola Frobusch is making clothes for children which recycle and reuse to create a fabulous vintage look for kids.
Spurred on by the shocking tonnage of fabric and textiles which end up in British landfill every year, Nixie use old fabrics and recycled wool to create a wonderful boho-chic range for children from three months up to eight years.
We love the snuggly jumper for the coming autumn, which has angel wings woven into the back of it, and the totally hippy Butterfly dresses with long dangling sleeves.
Nixie are still building their website but they do take orders by email (or if you're in East London, they sell via Buggies and Bikes on Broadway Market, E8). For more information about what they do, check out the Nixie website.
