'GOOD, BUT NOT QUITE THERE'
Strengths:
compared to the traditional travel cot: good; compared to the new lightweight pop up versions: poor
Weaknesses:
too many poles to thread. Need to pay £10 extra to have a shade
Overall:
Good, but now it seems old technology when compared to the Samsonite & Bushbaby

'GOOD - THE BEST AVAILABLE IN '05'
Strengths:
Stable, very lightweight compared to other 'travel cots' (you can carry this easily under your arm, whilst still holding your bag)
Weaknesses:
Complicated to put up; suffers from the hassle of all cots on the floor in old houses - cold draughts. Not the best sleep mattress - but all seem to suffer in this area (so use an extra blanket underneath the pad)
Overall:
Sound

Ideal for my daughter until she reached 2 & had transferred out of her cot

The clip over shade was a bit expensive for just being a strip of material (wish I'd waited before buying it & improvised)

'A MUST HAVE!'
Strengths:
Lightweight. Poles have a 'memory' so it gets much easier to put up every time. It also works really well as a travel play pen.
Weaknesses:
Takes some practice to get hang of assembling it. I did add a couple of extra blankets to bulk up the mattress (prob just did this for piece of mind though).
Overall:
One of the best buys we have made. Have used it on quite a few holiday trips now and have also taken it overseas! The mattress is quite thin but just add a few extra blankets and my baby seems perfectly comfortable on it. Unlike most other travel cots the mosquito net is built in and there are no gaps. It is very light - for travelling overseas, we were allowed to take this on the plane as hand luggage. It's also ideal for travelling by car as it takes up very little space in the boot! So there's room for your husband's golf clubs! Important to keep in mind though - it is quite tricky to put together but just takes a bit of practice!
